Does anyone have issues with the wifi signal? Mine is garbage on this thing.

No dude, my prob was the screen and sound kept going off and it was getting worse so I tried another rom and now its pretty much useless until a proper img comes out.

Eddiepropane hope you were able to download the file. My Chinese not good enough to get through the process. If you got it please pass it along. Second problem I'm having on this box is downloading a file. I don't know if it's the box or android 7.1 not letting the file write to the usb drive.

I purchased a Rii mini i8+ BT keyboard / touchpad for this device - but ive just realised that in the description of the remote it says may not work with bluetooth 4.0 - and the m8s pro uses 4.1.

Was just wondering if anyone has been able to get it to work before i send it back?

Hi,

I have purchased a MECOOL M8S Pro. Upgraded to latest Firmway (24/05/2017). All working well...

Only problem I have is that I don't seem to be able to override the M8S Pro startup App (Launcher). I've set the default launcher but the M8S Pro always seems to override it on startup.

Has anyone solved this?

I've downloaded and installed the firmware.

I noticed some slight improvement on my device but now have 2 small icons permanently in the top left of my screen on the status bar which I cant get rid of.

The two icons are BCenter with strange bbbbbb and cccccc written there and an icon named MgmtSupport.

Is it the same for anyone else with this firmware. Is there some way to get rid of them?

Can't say I noticed this when I updated my device this morning and when I rebooted it this evening, I notice these odd icons.

Yes I too have seen this problem with the 2 notifications in the top left. The BCenter also randomly crashes and pops up a message in the middle of the screen saying "BCenter has stopped working, click OK to continue" or words to that effect....

I don't seem to be able to downgrade my firmware and go back to the 05/05.2017 edition that didn't have this problem....

24/05/2017 does seem to have fixed the problem with the button bar at the bottom of the screen not showing.

Still can't override the M8S Pro Launcher though!!! Really need to fix this....

Thanks for the reply, relieved that I am not the only one with the problem. I hope they will fix it but I don't have too high hopes on that. Every time they issue an update they seem to introduce some additional problems.

My device on the 05/05 firmware, when I played live streams in websites (ustv for eg.), it resulted in my device locking up trying to play the video and I had to always force a shutdown. With this newer firmware 24/05 I do not have that problem anymore.

I have 2 MECOOL boxes, both doing the same after the 24/05/2017 update. I have done factory reset's and cache reset's on both and they still persist with BCenter and MgmtSupport. Good to know about adguard thanks.

I do remember seeing BCenter on the 05/05/2017 firmware, but it just seemed to start and then disappear, but now it hangs around until it randomly crashes.

Interestingly I get ddddddd and cccccc instead of your "bbbbbb and cccccc" not sure there is any relevance on this though.

Morning to all, I both one Mecool M8S pro 32GB ram and 32GB rom. when i set and connect to my TV and power on my tv box its start booting and when the Meccool name show on the screen its stop there and the remote is not responding. Ihave done reset and data factory reset and then started to work and and most problem when adding apps from store it always hanging and remote not work again, when i remove the power plug to reboot then the display stuck again at Mecool words. I have done flashing withe the update on version date 20170524. 1.3GB image file. but the problem still the same. please kindly advise me if there is still hope to repair the box. thanks

I tried this with OTA offline, put the zip in a USB key, but when the box reboot I get: "error! ... failed to map files, installation aborted!"

Am I doing something wrong?

Me have problem with mecool m8s pro. since arrive alway froze stuck at booting. after data factory set it will work and crash when adding apps, when it crash box not responding from remote.
