External cooling? Meh. Here's another one that looks a little smaller around (still 55mm hole-to-hole), and 10mm high. 6 bucks, internal cooling and some soldering ain't bad...

Silent Aluminum Heatsink Cooling Fan for VGA Graphics Video Card. Unique fan design for easy thermal heat dissipation.

Well, I hole sawed a 1" hole on top and just drilled holes for the zip tie. The fan is 40MM square by 10MM thick. Very light brushless motor. Just enough noise to be bearable. If you lay the box sideways, you barely hear the fan. I had a bigger blower before but it was too noisy.

Meh on the external too. Not gonna be all that good when it's below the box while the heat sink is on top . The vent holes under aren't that plentiful either .
That might work. I can't open the box to measure if the two holes 55MM apart won't hit any circuitry though .
I'd stick to 5V though. Unless you want to supply the 12V externally.
This one is the cleanest fanned one posted here.http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...286#post672286

Instead of soldering wires and connectors to the board, I think I'll just solder a USB cable to it instead, and drill a hole out the back for it to plug into a USB hub... Thanks all, I'll give a update later after I receive the device.

From that thread I posted, someone used this heat sink for ODroid. http://www.hardkernel.com/main/produ...=G141637555371 That and some vent holes on top might do it .

I just remove the top "rockchip" plate which is hold by double side tape etc from top cover. then put a mesh on top of it to prevent dust get in. So far so good. BTW, I also raised 4 feet a bit with 4 piece of foam etc. to get better air flow from bottom.

I already posted the link for the Firefly heatsink in a previous post (nice try). It's doubtful that the mounting holes line up with this board, but it might stick on there with a thermal pad...

I really like the idea of wiring a internal heatsink fan to a USB cable, that way you have the option of plugging it into a wall adapter if you want access to all of your USB ports.

If the fan is 10MM thick, it will hit the top cover.

You will also have more cable coming out of the box, if it matters to you.
There are two hidden USB ports. You can solder the wires cleanly inside the box to one of those .

Hi guys, I still have some problems:
                            1) Can't power off using remote control. I must remove the power plug. I can't change the attached USB disk without power off the box, because every attempt to connect an external HDD reset the device (maybe power is not enough ? Often the external HDD is not recognized too...)
                            2) Power Supply is gone after 24 hours. Which power supply unit can I buy for that ?
                            3) Audio.... better don't talk about it: any new new firmware coming ?
Thanks for your help, I apologize for my english.

That's a great idea thanks. Do you have a picture of where these hidden ports are located on the board? Also I think it'd be good to solder a 2pin connector in case you ever have to replace the fan if it burns out.
