I have seen that poor quality USB cables, using Front USB ports or laptops can give grief with failure to burn..
just thoughts...
Worse case do a warranty advise it failed during and update.

The seller is a seller
Lodge a ticket on their website first, wait for a bit as this is silly season, they are busy so can take some time.
Advise of the situation problem you encounted they may ask you to jump through a couple of loops try this try that take a photo etc...Part of the deal
and go from there, it does work just takes time.

Turns out that the USB driver does not sustain connectivity long enough after first connecting due to lack of the proper handshaking signal/command from the H96 box to keep the USB connection alive, so the USB drops out after 4 retries and your ROM transfer never gets a chance to initialise properly. My work around was to disconnect the USB cable within about 8-10 seconds of pressing the 'Restore' button on the ROM burning tool and reconnect after a couple of seconds. Took me a few tries to get the timing right (depends on what ROM burning SW and drivers you use), but I eventually got the image transfer to kick-in and ... voila, it loaded in and the transfer was completed and checked successfully.
