Aah-ha, thanks for the tip. Before I try the process again with factory tool 1.45 can anyone verify that the 180102 firmware fully powers down (not standby) with the remote? That is the main reason I'm wanting to upgrade. TIA.

Finally got my box back up with the October firmware. To get the working Gallery app go to Apitode type in gallery. Third one down, 423k downloads, 4.6mb, uploaded by leecs.

Cheers, got it. I flash my box with the newer firmware but as Hyster74 says you need to use factory tool 1.45e to flash the image. If you need that version I can upload it for you.

Just checked on my box with the latest firmware & the box stays off when powered off.

Ok, I have never used Aptoide before so I downloaded on my desktop what I thought was the gallery you said to get but it seems this was just the aptoide installer that sneakily named itself gallery.apk. I then ran the app & searched for the gallery again & tried to install it but it says that a package with that name already exists. I even tried deleting the gallery in /system/app but now get package is corrupt when trying to install the modded gallery. Any chance you could let me know how to install it?

Finally back up with the newest firmware. Shuts down with my remote fine, just won't start from off with remote. Frustrating. BanziBaby, the Gallery I found is Gallery 1.1.40030 according to Titanium Backup. If I remember correctly I had to uninstall the old version before the updated one would install, some conflict. Backup your gallery first in case it gets botched.

Ahh, I don't use the included remote as I use a rii mini i25 air mouse remote/keyboard. I long pressed the power/standby button till it shows the power off/reboot menu, selected power off & the box stays off until I press the power button on the remote again.

Cheers for the info about the other galaxy, will backup the installed gallery with with both my backup pro & titanium backup to be safe before trying the one you suggest, many thanks again for your help.

Again, if I remember correctly... I think after uninstalling gallery and installing the new, it didn't work. So, I set up the new as a system app. Rebooted. Still didn't work. Installed as user app again. Rebooted, and the updated Gallery was working without issue. Android can be interesting sometimes.

Got it installed with no issues, took a while for the wallpapers to actually appear in the gallery but once they did I could change wallpaper. I just wish nova launcher worked as that was the one I prefer but buzz launcher is working.

Great! Yeah, I like Nova better but Buzz at least works and is fairly customizable. And we have wallpapers!

Hi! I´ve received the H96 Max a couple of days ago. It runs correctly in a wifi way, but when I tried to use it with ethernet cable i realized that ethernet port doesn´t work. I updated to last rom but ethernet port doesn´t work.
Ethernet MAC is missed, there is no ip address...
Is possible to recover the ethernet MAC?

tv h96 max became brick,does not see the usb even when you press something in the audio output.
I tried a usb cable connected to the usb 3 tv box and the computer holding in the audio output.
I also installed the driver driver and 4.3 and 4.4 for nothing,only a red light lights up on the audio output

Hi,

Used a paper clip and placed between the 2 contacts...(see post 249 for picture in red circle) while holding the reset button (in yellow audio output hole) and usb connected to computer and then connecting the power plug...this took several tries with the repositioning of the paper clip beween the 2 contacts. .play around with it...the point being the H96 Max can be unbricked!!!!
