Hi Guest , can you make an update zip of The framework edited for me to test on my device? Or have you already had a test and it did not work? Thank you..

Weren't you going to PM me with a request for that custom build of framework-res.apk? This isn't something I'd normally post for general use, and right now I'm rolling out an update for Beelink GT1. It may be a few days before I can get to it.

Once I install one game I can switch apps from one row to the other regardless they are games or app?... Gonna try that...

Didn't work. If, obviously, I got a second row for games, it is for games only. One row for games and one row for apps, no matter how much apps I have per row. Can't get to organize my apps in two or more rows, like in the picture I quoted above...
Just wanted to organize it in 2 rows too, just like the screenshots in first post, but don't know how...

Each line has a maximum number of apps installed, when you install several, they move to the second line, and so on. For example you have 15 apps installed and they are always on the same line, when you install 5 more apps the sum will be 20, so there will be 10 apps on each line. Logical is just an example, I do not know the exact number.

My M9S Pro is the 3G RAM 16G storage version. I used DRM Info and I have Widevine L1 confirmed... now I really want to flash your ROM because the vendor one is rather poor, but I have some simple questions:

            - If I use the tool to create a burn SD card, will this overwrite my Widevine factory key?
            - Can I use the OTA flashing method without ovewriting the key, or using the burn tool is the only option?
            - Can I sideload Netflix to get full HD streams in this case? Or is there a patched APK that can do this regardless?

            Thanks for the awesome work!

From the DRM info app, what does it say about the HDCP?

                  Hello Man!

You wrote M9S Pro, considering that its a typo and that in fact you have the Mecool M8S Pro (other than the M8S Pro + or M8S Pro L) and want to install this ATV firmware, here are some answers:

1 - Regardless of the method used, your DRM lvl will remain the same as the last firmware stock.
2 - Yes you can install this firmware through the OTA update app, choose the Local OTA option, it is necessary that the update-OTA ... zip firmware is in the root of the memory card.
3 - You will be able to see in HD, but unfortunately you will need to download the Netflix app from apkmirror.com, choose mobile version. Do not download the ATV version because it gives an error.

I hope to have healed your doubts, be welcome and pass on what you have learned by helping others.

I can confirm OTA flashing worked. None of the burn card software worked for me, they were not able to list my SD card drive, for whatever reasons, tried all compatibility settings. I did not use the burn tool with USB because I did not want to tear a cable and solder a male connector to it unless OTA flashing failed.

I can confirm Netflix for Android TV (sideloaded) provides FULL HD. The normal Android Netflix app WILL NOT work with HD streaming. So, when you download the APK, make sure it is the TV build. Both apps worked, I did not have the issues you report with the TV app, and it is actually the only one providing HD streams. Perhaps this was fixed at some point.

                      Hope this helps!

Oh and before I forget: The root provide by default is extremely unsafe. I highly recommend flashing the SuperSU binary over the one provided, because any application can silently obtain root privileges without any prompt. This is a nice gaping backdoor sitting in your probably permanently Internet-connected TV box...

Use this and flash from recovery:

                        From http://www.supersu.com/download

Perhaps the developer of this ROM should include this by default. There is absolutely no good reason to let root access be available to any app without any sort of prompt or authorization. By installing the above and the SuperSU app, you will be able to log and decide when root access should be granted. I also recommend sideloading any of the available conntrack/iptables based firewall apps that report connections to you and have a fine-grained in/outgoing configuration so you lockdown whatever is lurking in the box and apps you install.

Hi lordofkek, for me the SD memory cards work, I am using the latest compilation of the ATV firmware on the stock firmware of the month of September. I made the update by local OTA, I checked clear data and cache to avoid bootloop or bugs ... However the Netflix ATV app does not work for me, every time I install it it generates an error and is not able to start the login screen. .. I do not know is because the gadget has Root or if it is because simply something is broken. I use Netflix for mobile, and if it is not able to display in HD, the SD seems to me a good quality, I do not know how to differentiate whether it is HD or not, but my Netflix supports HD.

I can see a massive difference with my TV set,,, if you can't tell the difference then you might be watching SD... or your connection is not fast enough (I have fiber here, half a G per second). Try with the most recent APK... It's most likely a problem local to you for whatever reasons.

Lordofkek has a different situation with his box. It is very unusual that the Mecool M8S Pro supports Widevine Level 1 and HDCP 1.x, most of these boxes do not support this. So, you would not be able to run the ATV version of Netflix. Lordofkek got very lucky to get a PRO box with the capability to play Netflix in HD.
