hello. i am new in this android boxes, i bought a m8s pro box 3 gb ram ddr4, with wild lvl1. the firmware is not good on this box, when i turn off and turn on later letters are on chine. i change on english but change everythime when i turn off box. so i won to install this rom, can i install with ota this rom, and new update to get with ota or must download new rom and install again.

Just disable the HDMI CEC auto-language select feature, and that should keep whatever language you've selected.

I made the firmware update via OTA update, I would like to know how I can continue the later updates since the OTA update is no longer available on Android TV.

The newer versions of the Nexus custom ROMs for this device have an update app accessible from Settings->About->System update that will allow you to install incremental updates without needing to reboot to TWRP recovery. Until you get one of those newer versions, though, you'll need to install in TWRP, Burn Card Maker, or USB Burning Tool.

Note: If you were one of the lucky folks to receive an M8S Pro with Widevine L1, I'd be interested to hear if this ROM allows you to run Netflix.

i have a problem Ith my mecool m8s pro, when i turn off my tv, the box mecool going to sleep but when i turn on my tv, the box don't wake up.
the hdmi cec is activated and i haven't tne same problem with my nexbox a95x.

That's not based on the M8S Pro L firmware, that IS the M8S Pro L firmware. It's been posted for a while, and we just received a 20171208.110230.V0928 release for that box. Frankly, that new version isn't worth passing on, since it just removes support for sleep, the console service and Google Cast. Not a step forward, in my opinion.

Hi, I would like to share a bug happening with my Mecool TV Box ...

Whenever I am using the remote control, and repeatedly pressing the right directional key ◀ the appliance switches off. The most interesting thing is that if I repeat the process even with the device turned off, it simply starts on as if I had pressed the power key. I wonder if this is an OEM Firmware bug or only all Mecool remotes are defective.

Yes, it's a IR remote problem. We followed up on this, and the box is actually receiving the Power scancode from the remote when that happens. Only a few users have reported this problem with their remote, though. Guess you're just lucky. ;-)

Hi, I'm going to need help from you ... I'll try to explain exactly what happened to my Mecool M8S Pro ... Yesterday I changed some files in / data / mediadrm and Netflix stopped working, even though I left everything as it was before (files, permissions and etc), I thought that with an apdate_ota via TWRP + Wipe Cache / Dalvik would work but the app continued with the same problem ... Network connection error. So I had the stupid idea of doing Wipe System on TWRP, and installing OTA, the errors started there, it did not work, so I tried to install a previous Firmware (Kernel 619) that was on the card, it started fine, o X (Finishing that the Operation Failed) ... Currently the device turns on the Blue LED but does not show image, I can not anymore by the card. What will happen to my TV Box? How do I repair it? I need a complete procedure, I am totally lay about Mask ROM Mode, if possible send me photos of which pins to make short circuit.

Well, I'd try using USB Burning Tool with the burn package (.img file) next. If that fails, you're next step is the Mask ROM mode recovery (which will also need USB Burning Tool and the burn package).

Thanks Guest, I managed to solve Brick still yesterday, but the end of the day was so tiring and I ended up not reporting here.

I do not know what exactly caused the flash interrupt through SDcard on the first try, but that made things difficult for me.

Well, now that I've managed to fix the problem I'll explain what I did to get out of the brick:

• 1° I have previously backed up my other M8S Pro directly to the memory card.
• 2° I copied the recovery.img (TWRP) to the root of the memory card and placed it in the damaged device.
• 3° Turn on the appliance by pressing the reset button on the bottom center until the TWRP starts.
• 4° Restore the partitions to Logo, Boot, Recovery, Data, Cache and System, but the Data partition was unable to be mounted.
• 5° Using BurnSDCardMaker I formatted the sdcard with the last OEM Firmware for the M8S Pro, the version was on 10/30.
• 6° Then I put it in the device and flash started without any problem.

Fortunately I got my little device back! : D Finally some final considerations that are very important ...

My device still had blue LED, I deleted the system partition by TWRP and tried to flash by flashable sdcard.

Before backing up the partitions I installed AndroidTV on my other M8S Pro in the latest version.

Yes, you can always revert to the stock OEM firmware. There's a bug with their OEM update script that doesn't let it install in TWRP, though, so you may need to install a fixed version or just use the burn package and USB Burning Tool.
