I had to revert to 6.0.1 this morning because streaming live TV through Sling TV was just too awful to bear. Too much stuttering and pixelation to be watchable. This particular box is primarily used by my son to watch TV on so if that's not working it's a no go. Guest do you have any ideas why this could be? It was only Sling TV. Streaming video from YouTube worked fine and now that I'm back on 6.0.1 Sling TV is working perfectly again.

No, I don't. The underlying OEM ROM is brand new, and so there are bound to be performance issues that they're fine tuning. The stuttering Bluetooth audio is another such issue that I hope will be addressed in the next release.

My guess is that the ROM was missing a hardware accelerated codec that Sling TV used, requiring it to fall back on a generic one with software acceleration.

any idea why the USB drive is not being recognized in Kodi? in ES File Explorer all is normal. could it be some permission issue?

Is it possible to add additional support for more air remotes such as Minix Neo A2 Lite Airmouse?

I can certainly add additional keylayouts and keymaps. Just send me the .kl or .kcm file.

        Thank you!
But, I don't know where to get those files.
I noticed that ALVATECH has a ROM which included support to Minix Neo A2 Lite, as well others, hence my request if it is possible. I also noticed that you worked in the Rom of ALVATECH. Is it possible for you to extract the necessary files from that ROM. Or if you tell me how, I think I can do it and send you back. [ROM] NEW Beelink GT1 / for both 6255 & 9377 Chipset Alvatech ROM

The problem is that I don't have the hardware for testing. I need someone with the hardware to confirm that the device works when you drop the correct .kl or .kcm file into the /usr directory. You can do that using the File Manager in TWRP.

        OK.
        So, I must:

        1. Install the rom from ALVATECH
        2. Access TWRP
        3. Through file manager extract files (which should I look for?)
        4. Send you those files.

Yes, but ideally you would test them first by dropping them into this custom ROM and verifying that the hardware worked as expected. I know this is a hassle, but it's something that I can't do without the hardware.

It's fine, I can do it.
I just need guidance from you.

PS: How can I "test them first by dropping them into this custom ROM"?
        It's all in "/system/usr/keylayout"?

Let's say you found a promising keylayout file from another ROM, which you believe adds support for your new air mouse. You'd just lift the .kl file from /usr/keylayout and move it to /usr/keylayout on this ROM using TWRP File Manager. Then, just reboot to system and see if the air mouse now works.

You can also use the Amlogic Customization Tool to peek into .img files without needing to install them first. That can save some time.

        I can't find /usr/keylayout.
Where is it in your rom tree?

On the Linux root, they'll both be /system/usr/keylayout.

I'm on system but I only see the bin folder!

You've got to mount it first.

BTW, if you need more guidance, just contact me via PM.

I loaded the stock TX8 Max 7.1.2 ROM as well as the stock Beelink GT1 ROM. Both suffer from the same issue. It seems like whatever the problem is it might be common across Amlogic firmwares (maybe in Amlogic's own source). I am heartbroken that I won't be able to use this ROM for now.

Yeah, my guess is that it's an Amlogic codec issue. I'm told they retired the old hardware accelerated one that was used in Marshmallow (the one that had the brightness bug), but the Nougat solution obviously has its own issues.

Hi Magendanz, the rom is compatible HDR ? Thank you

Yes. In fact, there are some new HDR settings under Settings->Display in this ROM that I haven't seen anywhere else.

        Hello Magendanz,
i try to install your rom on r-tv s10 but i have a lot of issues with android tv remote and kodi, with netflix.
your rom is great but doesn't work well on my box thank you.

The Netflix problem is going to be more of a factor of DRM than anything, and very few of these boxes have the Widevine L1 support that Netflix wants. As for IR remotes, there is support for multiple remotes...but not all. Fortunately, you can change up the remote.conf on this ROM. All of the other Nougat ROMs at this point require you to edit the DTB, which is considerably harder (and doesn't support Mouse Mode). Not sure what's going on with KODI, cause that's been working fine for me.

further to my post above, can someone please check if Kodi sees their USB Drive or SD Card? In my case, the USB or Card is visible in the File Manager but Kodi does not see it. I have formatted both of them in FAT32 and re-tried but to no avail. If anyone can check whether they have the same issue I would really appreciate. Thanks.

Edit: PS it was working fine on the Marshmallow version of this rom.
