Okay, so..
Today I've recieved my Mecool M8S Pro L with Voice Control.. i was quite suprised that it came with:
-newest FW "M8S PRO L-userdebug 7.1.2 NHG47L 20180417.150752.V0213"
-Microsoft Playready DRM Supported
aand
-working Miracast app - succefuly streamed screen from Nexus 5X and windows laptop.

is there a link to this latest firmware?or could you upload to mega?

i installed twrp recovery on mine so update app wont work.may have to revert back and put twrp on usb stick.my firmware is dated 16.03.2018.update app just says "fix some bug" so dont know if once that is done it will show update to latest firmware which is 17.04.2018.my drm info says microsoft playready drm is unsupported.

It only will work with 20180316.143701.V0213 Firmware

What is this exactly "Microsoft Playready DRM"? What can you do with this?

I guess I am missing something, where can you pick up these Mecool boxes for under $30???

My mistake, I saw some different models ranging from $36 and up. But most of the MeCool M8 Pro L are double that or more.I stand corrected.Still, reasonable, I think for an Android v7.x preloaded with apps and cool features.

From reading some of these post, the newer "L" boxes have different WiFi/Bluetooth modules, and these ROM's are NOT mix and match. I have the older "L" boxes, and would be afraid to install this newer firmware onto my boxes........

+1 Just what I was wondering ... The strange change in version suffix i.e. v03xx, then v06xx, then v09xx and now suddenly (backwards?) to v02xx series ???

I shall probably have to wait for the expert to release a Universal Super ATV Mod !

I have no idea idea if it's one of the new models - is there a way to verify?

You have the model with the changed wi-fi chip.you can tell by firmware version and the fact it now supports Microsoft DRM.do not install older firmwares or custom firmware for previous boxes cos they are not compatible.

Is the latest Firmware compatible with the old Boxes? Can I upgrade direct from the November release?And why the older Firmware´s not shown on the MEcool Webpage?
