Please give the link where you got the firmware. Also check es file explorer. /device ->system/bin if there is su in it or not. else it will be in xbin. check and report. Never seen this error before.

I have never encountered this. Either someone else who has installed the same rom could help you, or you could try flashing same rom again and flash zip again. Or if no one helps in 2 days, then I will flash this rom and see what is the issue. You can also try to flash supersu zip and see if it flashes fine, you must make sure you are able to flash stock rom first so that you can revert back. Or make a backup first.

with HK1 I install magisk in TWRP, I have no problems with it.

Sorry, my mistake, I use the magisk on my T95Q with stock rom, and use Supersu on the HK1.

Appdata is telling you you can use supersu zip. then open supersu app goto settings and select, full unroot. Then flashing magisk zip will give you magisk root.

I have tested every rom on 4pda, but I get confused which was which. I do however have seen every rom freezing hanging or not waking up and every other small problem here and there.

Just wanted to say thanks for your in-depth instructions. I'm currently testing the People's firmware and I would agree that it's probably the best all around. I would say the 3 best are (in order):
1. People's firmware
2. HK1 Pro
3. X96 v311

But all of them are pretty good.

Two issues I have with all firmwares are that 60fps videos in the mobile youtube app (playstore version) stutter the odd time for me. And the other issue is that youtube for android TV plays 60fps videos stutter free, but using any version newer than 2.00.19 keeps saying "Unfortunately youtube has closed".

No matter what APK i put on the device to stream movies it just crashes - white screen and then goes back to the main menu of the device.
My dads works perfectly.
ALWAYS the way - I've been banging on about this box and for some reason he has just opened it out the box and cannot get any APK's to work.

Can anyone help please?

Do they install? You need to use app installer to install apks.

I just got this box recently in 2/16 GB version. What is the best firmware for it? I see most of the people like HK1 Pro here, while people on Russian 4pda forum like X96Max port.

Is HK1 suitable also for 2 GB RAM variants? What is better there than in stock ROM - is it worth upgrading? Does it have OTA updates?
