Well, I flashed the v1.3test2 and boots ok the first time

everything seems to run smoothly, WIFI ok, laucher screens, open and close the app drawer.

The bootanimation resolution is visibly out of range and it appears as a small rectangle in the center of the screen, it has 4GB partition for apps by default and....
I coud not try anything else because the screen got off and need to reboot but after that it's in loop on the bootanimation.

Go back to 1.2 now

PS: Randy, I saw preloader is a newer release (1.24 vs 1.20), do you suggest to flash it too?

I don't recommend flashing the loader unless you are recovering from a hard brick. Otherwise, there is no need.

received my tab today

so.....received my tablet today. YEAH !
Its the M6Pro Wifi 16Gb version.

I'll start with upgrade to the original firmware, do some tests and then flash Randy's fw and do the test all over again.

SDBENCH, ANTUTU and CPU-Z (for info).
Anything else on the wishlist ?

Newest stock rom (15-10-2013)
Antutu :
18189 in HD
19234 in Normal
Wifi : weak point ! Bad wifi reception but performance is average to good. (on a 50Mbps connection with only G on channel 1 : +/- 7Mbps sustained download / 3 Mbps upload, that is about 10m away from router which is installed into a cupboard.

For reference :

Samsung Galaxy Player 4.2 and Samsung Ace Plus both get about 15Mbps down/4Mbps upload at same point.
Asus Laptop : 24Mbps down / 4.5Mbps up at same point.

SD BENCH :
Internal SD : 24.36Mb/s READ and 5.91Mb/s write
External SD (Samsung Plus 8Gb) : 21.87Mb/s READ and 6.05Mb/s write
Internal memory: 181.23Mb/s READ (CACHED READ WARNING) and 5.98Mb/s write
RAM: 987.12Mb/s


Then :

RileyROM 1.2

Antutu :
18069 in HD
19155 in Normal
Wifi : same as with stock ROM. Still not good.
Battery drain : wel....to be short : AMAZING !
Tablet was put to sleep this morning at 8 am, battery level at 96% .
At 4pm, that is 8 hours later, I wake my tablet up and : 95%.

I immediatly started to do some tests :
First I downloaded and installed SD Bench
Ran 2x all the LONG benchmarks with SDBENCH :
Internal SD : 42.62Mb/s READ and 7.08Mb/s write
External SD (Samsung PRO 8Gb) : 16.58Mb/s READ and 11.43Mb/s write
Internal memory: 290.83Mb/s READ (CACHED READ WARNING) and 7.26Mb/s write
RAM: 1170.46Mb/s

Strange reading for the Samsung Pro : 16.5Mb/s read !
My Samsung Plus 8Gb gets about 24Mb/s read but only 6.5Mb/s write
At the time I tested the StockROM i didnt have the Samsung Pro card.

Overall performance in READ/WRITE are better with RileyROM. I cannot see a reason for this.
Anyone an idea ?
I used the 4Gb parameter file, while in the stock ROM its a 2Gb partition.

After all those tests : battery still at 90%
So for the M6Pro Wifi version with RileyROM 1.2 the battery drain overnight will be extremely minimal !

Awaiting the final 1.3 ROM now and will do the test all over again.
BTW : Please put Youtube app in ROM because I cannot download/install the Youtube app. Playstore keeps telling me that device in my country is not compatible.

Yo guys, last question, I now reflashed with rr 1.2, but still the battery is after 1 day totally down..hardware of real defect problem? what is normal with this battery? Charged it to 100% Monday, used it Tuesday for 10 minutes showing a video with a presentation at customers, then one night in standby and now it is down at 15%? please let me know something, otherwise I have to send him back, thanx in advance guys

Tbh : I don't think its normal that the batt drain is so fast

Dears ihave same problem with battery no solution so far. However alladditional services drains the battery mostly. So if not needed 3g modem, gps, bluetooth or even wifi should be switched off suppose.

That would definitely help. The one thing that really makes a difference is to lower screen brightness. You would be surprised at how low you can take it without noticing that much difference in ability to see the screen...but the battery savings is significant. The display takes up the most juice.

Yes fully agree. I use normal screen instead of hd longer time with no bigger difference. It saves energy, butnot enough.
Is it possible to foresee some limitations of services in new rom?
I am sure everyone would be happy tohave possibility to prolong service of gadget.

test with M6 Pro

Can somebody confirm/test the problem I have :

With the M6 Pro :

Use Dolphin jetpac or Dolphin browser.
Choose wallpaper (m.flikie.com), and turn ur tablet in Portrait mode.

Now 1/3 of the left screen is blank, unless I touch the screen , then it completes.

In other apps (a local newspaper hln.be, vandaag.be) when put in portrait, the 1/3 of the screen simply does not scroll.
This happens in Normal mode and HD mode.

In the default browser, the same site m.flikie.com works flaweless, in portrait or landscape mode.

Can anyone install Dolphin and try this for me please ?
Anyone having this issue or do I have a defect in the tablet ?
The strange part is that I do not have this in for example BBC news, CNN, photo's, movies nor the Gui (launcher).[IMG][/IMG]

HD : 2048 x 1536
