Hi lewy, getting 4 more questions before i pull the trigger.
1. my daughter will be mainly using 1channel. Can you (or anyone else) confirm that the 1channel add-on works using the justXBMC firmware?

2. Trying to keep my costs down, so is an 8gb microsd card sufficient?

3. I'm very Linux impaired. I downloaded the newest firmware and understand the #install and #after install directions, I just don't understand NFS share mount part. I'm running windows 8 if that helps.

4. Finally, I can see that she'll be able to run games in ouya mode, will she be able to run any android app in that mode? For example like a microsoft office app?

Thanks for all the hard work. This will be my daughter's Christmas present so I want to make sure it works for what she wants to use it for.

T-R42 (MK888B)

Hi Lewy,i am guessing this will not work on the T-R42 (MK888B) model with Bluetooth? I received my device this week only to find out I cannot use it as a replacement for my Zotac AD02 as XBMC device.No DTS passthrough, black bars on both sides, no root method because Windows 8 64bit does not recognize the storage device (tried all kinds if drivers).

Lewy, I can flash the kernel to 2.0.4 from your 1.2.0, will it work?

did you readed the post i wroted to you erlier?
1.2.0 using stock kernel which have some drm hack so device is rebooting
when this kernel is used with difrent rom.

please talk about HFW in proper thread.

T-R42

I have the T-R42 (MK888B).
If i flash this firmware that is actually for the K-R42 (no bluetooth) is the WIFI and Bluetooth the only issue i will have?
I will be using the lan RJ45 port anyway.

just installed the 1.1.1 firmware, nice work

Only DTS will not work with Xbmc, AC3, Pll and all other formats works with Hdmi passthrough.
If i try to play a Dts Video, Xbmc was terrible slow, one frame per second or so, my Receiver cant get
a signal from Hdmi. If i switch Xbmc to analog the Dts video is playing without stuttering.

I will do more tests with other settings and Spdif...

Out of curiosity, have u tried to connect hdmi directly to tv? The setup I am planning to have is K-R42 straight to tv. Even though I will not have a receiver, it would be vital that the box be able to play MKV videos with DTS (most of my Network share files have DTS).

Also, are you wireless or wired?

Hi,

all my cables are fixed so there is no easy way to test the box direct with my tv. But
i think your TV cant decode DTS and plays only stereo, so you can disable Dts in Xbmc settings,
ore just set all output to analog. This settings works, i have tried ist just, set output to Hdmi
and disable only Dts, all files with AC3 plays fine only the Dts files plays in stereo (without stuttering).
Same with anlaog, all files (MKV) from my Qnap NAS plays fine with stereo sound.
My box is connected wired to my Asus RT-N66U...

My tv definitely can't decode DTS, so I would need to set to analog. Its for my daughter's room, so nothing fancy, just needed to make sure MKV video files play over wired network.

Have you tried add-ons such as 1channel?
