Is this a v8a firmware and does it have the same type of fix as all the others for screen flicker? Can't use it if v7a and uses the commonly used fix for screen flicker. It messes with apps requiring proper overlay functions. So far the only two firmwares that function well for me are Box6D and the H96 pro plus mod. Also being v8a the HD aptx bluetooth module in magisk does give full integration, compared to my v7a version on my phone, which is basic aptx, which could be copied over to any v7a build.

Think this update is the "New" GoogleTV launcher from the new Chromecast, so I will not be updating my S905X3 box that runs SLIMBOX rom, personally don't care for a launcher that is even less customizable then the original AndroidTV homescreen. Too much hype over this new launcher, I'll pass.

Unless AOSP, I have no use for desktop/ menu style found in restrictive devices...(Squarehome? looks kind of nice for ATV)

I have been using TVLauncher3 over 2 years now. It's basic in layout, yet customizable. Has a few bugs, but popping out of it using home button and popping right back in, clears the issues right away. Much faster and easier to get to your apps than any other launcher. The buttons are big enough and stay relative size no matter what screen dpi you choose. PS, only v8a firmware allows this launcher to update others user's uploaded images for customizations of buttons, and gives proper layout in editing. Can't say for slimbox, as I may have to look at the package deeper. Don't want to dirty flash v7a over v8a. Until twrp 3.4 is released full backups of data cannot be done. The Russian links I have found are dead.

              Sad ! Sad ! sad !
The Developers were being insulted across the 4PDA forums...most deleted their offerings/ hard work and left.
Poor moderation...and a "Like vs Dislike" point system in the forums.

Thanks! Now I see his work... thought I had bad translation. Looks like it will be a while, no h96 pro plus firmware being posted.

I read through it, and did not see any issues being posted with subscription tv apps. I guess i am the only one who does not use Kodi or similar streaming shell apps. Also nobody has verified if it is v7a or v8a firmware. Since things are fairly new, I will check it out next year. Usually developers have more time over the winter to release their stuff near the begining of the year.

I figured my input might be looked at, as for fixing the mouse causing screen flicker, properly without causing overlay issues on apps that require full set of overlay features. I can live with random cache issues when booting, and reboots on wake. I see from what was written, there are tweaks like what I had been doing. Though some are scripted.

I am waiting for someone to release A10 or 11 as ATV, AOSP version is already out and it about making it ATV compatible.

Believe me 9 is ATV compatible. Beta ARM v8a seems best even though it's mostly untouched for refinements, at least until 9.0 final ARM v7a by slimhouse is available.

10 on up is broken by Google not to pass audio channels on calling features. It may effect audio pass through on bt, or apps that call
to the older android audio abilities, on 9.0 and earlier. Assuming your going to use some phone apps as well as ATV apps.

IMO beta 9.0 ARM v8a is worth putting up with its minor issues. Just shutdown or set not to sleep. The system is stable and only has issues with Peacock TV. Plus stable tweaking can be done for speed, with in limits of your memory speeds and ram config.
