    500Gb HDD access?

    Raghu,

I dont think you are able to access the 500Gb HDD (powered or unpowered)through any android device. t(hey are mostly limited to 64Gb or 99% of them are 32Gb, maybe I am wrong) unless you have experience otherwise.
Sorry for the late reply coz was sick and in bed for 3 days.
And if you are on the stock PiPo ROM you might face problems of writing to even the sdcard and should quickly upgrade it to the KASTY/RILEY customs ROMs.
The advantages of running customs ROM is that they are "rooted" and for me that is a must coz I always modify the "build.prop" and ,running automaintenace apps on the device like periodic cleaning of cache dan "junk files" will require the roo access by these apps that you can download from app store.
And adding the gps.conf file in the system is a must for a more accurate gps.fix. (I have attached a gps modified files that you need to add to the system folder that a lot of people in other forums have found it to be a cure for the poor PiPo gps. performance. You wouldnt be able to do all of this if you are on stock rom and they all come wit abigger data partition of 4Gb versus 2gb for stock ROM, with 4Gb data partition you do not have to move any apps to sdcard.

I'll do a new version today.

Before I start...do I keep the new launcher or delete it? I'm sure everyone is curious...but does anyone actually end up using it?

Cool, thank you riley. also I´ve upgraded just yesterday to your 2.0

Stable and faster as before, also I´ve needed 2 tries (didn´t delete provision.apk before adding a second user and endet up in a bootloop).

What I´ve missed was the first use assitant from google for setting up every user?

Tried gps on my way home in my car and had a fix after about 2 mins an between 6 an 12 sattelites in sight and 4-8 used with about 10m accuracy. So no gps problem here without editing anything!

But besides that everything ist ok as it is in 2.0, so no launcher or other software which can be loaded from the store for me.

                      thank you

                      regards

FWIW, I have a 2TB WD connected to the (RR2.0) M9Pro's OTG and just copied cwm/backup from the external_sd to the USB drive (/mnt/usb_storage). You do have to MOUNT it IF it isn't automatically mounted. My 2TB is powered and does automount but it is a single partition NTFS. Depending on partitioning and formatting, something else may be needed. Paragon has an NTFS&HFS+ app that might be useful, dunno.

Neither my 2TB or a little flash drive seem to work through my unpowered USB hub though. 2TB doesn't even spin.

I have a 2nd M9Pro with unrooted PiPo firmware (I'm going to ship it back for repairs) but can still get to a root command line via ADB to install stuff, chown, chmod, ...

                        F:\PIPO\RK3188_ROOT>adb shell
                        root@android:/ #

Doesn't satisfy all the apps that require SuperSU and nowhere near as convenient, but you can copy the su binary (without the .apk for the UI) onto an unrooted stock rom to get things accomplished. Rooted firmware is HIGHLY recommended of course.

Hello Randy, I've been making some changes here as soon change the kernel, the boot animation etc.. I tried to make my own rom. But failed :-(

Enough to give boot ok. But when you open any application, it closes suddenly. I've looked and permissions are correct.

What's the secret? I used rktools in Linux Mint 15 64-bit. And I mounted the image system.img loop.

                                How to make a rom

The next step is that I will try to install the original rom, enable root. Remove unneeded applications. Wipe the cache and Dalvik, and extract the rom. I think it should work well. Since the linux'm not succeeding.
