Thanks both. How is this flashed? Also, can I use the one at the top of the list on my none 3g version?

I would read through this topic as well, you can skip some comments but it's mainly related to the RileyROM 2.0 which you're going to flash into your device (if this is a M9 Pro). You'll loose all of your data. If you don't dare to do this all, maybe ask sy from your friends.. but it's quite simple actually even for medium level users. The ROM is rooted, there's a SuperSU application preinstalled into it so root-needing programs can be allowed to get this right (SuperSU pops up) - so simple. Just be careful, what you approve.
Thanks for the help and advice. And a big thanks to all who have contributed to making me feel welcome to this community.

RaderCad, M9ProPipo, others: thanks for the GPS related advice, with the original conf reset and a quick NTPSync I just started the GPS Test, let it run for couple of hours - now I checked the tablet and GPS is there, satellites can be seen, works like a charm ! Even rebooted and checked it again, works great also in Sygic Navigation app. I think this tablet is now .. ready to use finally

I'm glad some has figured the GPS out. I didn't imagine that you would have to wait so long for first time configuration.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to helping!!!!!

If you want to try 1.7 GHz or VSync patch let me know. So far these have not worked on any Pipo models

i can test it, can you make a stock kernel with VSync patched and one with only the RAM 667 MHZ ?
            thanks

System app removal on a WiFi m9 Pro > can these be removed with no adverse issues: Brower. Apk, media float. Apk, phone. Apk, Telephone.apk......?

Actually these apps aren't named very well. Removing them can cause Google Play Store to quit working.

The only real way to disable 3G is to remove the driver as mentioned above in this thread.

Thanks for the tip but looked twice in the thread, could not see how to remove the unnecessary 3G files/drivers/apks, whatever the correct term is...

                      Wifi issue

Finally managed to redo the flash and the riley rom is up and running eveyrhting is good except wireless

Connection speed starts at 65Mbps and drops to 5Mbps in about 20 mins and then stays that way.

                          Hello everyone,

I am having a huge problem getting this rom to work properly.

I had small problems with 1.9b (which I had previously).

When 2.0 came out I tried to install it, got so far as the new boot screen, but it never boots now. It also refuses to connect to 'ROM_Flash_Tool_137.exe' any longer.

I have the CWM recovery img installed.

How can I go back to the default?

                          Thanks,
                          Guz

                            Hi,

I flashed the latest Riley rom downloaded from the first post with default options and directories.

Has anyone tried to use Google Maps? It works well after fixing the usual GPS problems, however if you try voice commands it will crash. Is it possible to fix the problem?

Also, I'd like to use CWM. Has it already been installed by default? I don't see any CWM icon in the apps area. How can I make use of it? With my Android phone I just need to press a few buttons together and it will come up...

Last, but not least, I installed several apps after the ROM upgrade from stock to Riley. If a further version will be released, how am I supposed to install it without loosing my apps and data?

                            Thank you in advance!

                              GPU FPS

He all, anyone find a solution for improving the Mali-400 MP4 performance? My FPS has always constantly ranged from 10 - 14 + which is not to great. Anyone has success in overclocking it but maintaining stability. Or I wonder if the Mali-400 MP4 ever puts out improved drivers. And if so, does the drivers have to incorporated into the ROM or can they upgraded separate as a win box an be..

                              Also Any One Try "
Chainfire3D" of the M9 Pro with any Success?

Mali driver binary images are compiled by vendors directly into the kernel, no sources are available. A year or so ago someone tried to reverse engineer the drivers but that never got beyond early alpha.

The Mali4xx series is 'old' now and ARM have moved on to produce T-Series products that support OpenGL ES3 and DirectX11. The next Rockchip CPU, the RK32xx, will use a T624 GPU.
