I'm using supersu... Estrongs file Explorer with root explore enabled, but can't seem to edit build.prop to stock setting of overlay and density...

I can't rename or can't change permissions...what could be the reason.? Can anyone confirm if they are able to edit or rename the file and how?

You need to remount /system read+write. You can do it with e.g. ESFE's Root Explorer.

BTW I think changing the build prop helped fix the hdmi reconnection bug! Fingers crossed :-D

Youtube app, after searching, it will just scroll down to the bottom link of the results, weird.
Play Store, this is weird as well, the first APP i update from it does something strange, every time i update an app, it will go to the page of the first app i updated, you have no idea how many times i uninstalled GMAIL by accident.
Wallpapers, i use APOD, in fact it is the first app i install on an android device. if it auto updates my wallpaper its all fine, if i do it manually, or through the gallery, it messes up everything, it forces the wallpaper in fit-to-view-all rather then fit-to-all-screens, and sometimes it wont update the real image and the grey minix one comes up. i just like my galaxies moving around the homescreen too much.

Regarding Youtube app and the most recent version 5.2.27 , there are some serious issues on mini PC platform with it:
1. Scrolling down the result list after search (as Pluto mentioned, happens at my X7 as well - tested with N5902 controller and rockchip app)
2. The new Youtube GUI lowers video quality: play some HD video and come a little closer to your TV, you will see noticable pixelation, probably due to some new scaling algorithms in the app required for fancy video minimalization / maximialization. People are also confirming it on mobile platform:

Reverting back to 4.5.17 eliminates both problems , presents excellent video quality, no pixelations at all and no scroll down after search.

Yes i have the same problem. I cannot find the 1080p to watch.

Yes, but where is the 1080p resolution (the max is 720p) at full hd videos in youtube 4.5.17;
In finless 1.6 was ok.

I am currently using Finless 1.6.

Is there a noticeable speed/performance difference between 1.6 and 1.7? I'm asking because I'm lazy and I don't want to upgrade if there's not much difference.

i just thought i'd stop by and then i noticed a new rom, very cool.

popped it in and runs fine - 720, base OC, stock gpu.

couple of minor issues unrelated to 1.7 I was hoping would clear up. ima go start a thread i think.

edit: spose I should have done a little more reading before flashing, didn't know that 007 was proper 1080. any reason not to go 1080 if my tv supports?

I tried Lewy's rom "justxbmc" but it just wouldn't boot reliably on my x7, I think the optimization settings were just to fast... So, Iv'e been playing with Bob's Finless 1.7 rom combos and Lewy's justxbmcV3.apk and i have found the perfect combo for me. I'm using the 720p OC kernel and no air boot, cpu 1704, gpu 798, and ddr 667 and wow, silk smooth streaming everything I through at it no script errors with xbmc addons, very fast wifi, very stable and an Antutu score of 19980. Thanks to both Lewy and Bob for the effort. You both will be seeing some beer bucks from me soon!

there is a problem with this firmware and hdmi mode...

so i downloaded 1080p fw, and installed with pc- restore mode.

i have this combination:

x7 ---> hdmi ---> pioneer amplifier ----> hdmi ----> samsung full hd tv

if i choose all 1080p and 720p analysis picture in tv refreshes every 2 seconds - only above 720p i can see the picture, but it is too bad.

if i connect minix x7 in my tv, without amplifier, everything is good, except in 1080p image i just can see the words in my 40 inches tv from 4 metres.

in previous images i don't have any problems. i tried also stock fw 007 from minix and it has the same problem. please bob any fix? i don't want to use the old 1.6 fw! donation is coming too!
