Re: NEW - Minix Neo X7 - Finless 1.7 ROM

Think not, a normal Apk can't modify a system file... you need to use root permissions with a file explorer...

PS thanks for the super fast reaction... I am gonna try is asap...

        Thanks again!
You need a rooted version. I thought you are using Finless rom 1.7 and if so, you have no problem. Just copy the patched libmedia.so file to /system/lib directory and you are done. Otherwise, you have to looki into how to root the machine. You won't be able to copy anything to system files without root permission.

Thanks for your answer, now I get it ;-) BTW, I am going to use the finless 1.7 rom, so root is not a problem...

I am back to 006 now. I hope the pixeling and screen adjusting will be fixed shortly. Also i had sudden stops with video players.

              006 is fine now...

                In finless 1.6 was ok.
                Just to clarify:
                1. 1080p in youtube: Currently there is no 1080p youtube playback in Android apps, Google is rolling out backend changes and disabled this quality for the time being

                2. Scroll down after search in 5.2.27: the bug shows itself when you press Enter on your remote controller or in Rockchip App. When you select search query from drop down menu result list is not scrolled down

I've been having random shutdowns quite a lot. Every time i come back from work, the device is shut off, i usually just wake it up with a swipe. I had a few while browsing as well.

After the device was asleep overnight, this morning I tried using Google Hangouts, and the Camera failed. I then tried Gallery/Camera app and it still failed to load, this time crashing Gallery/Camera app when it tried loading the camera device. I then unplugged the camera, rebooted, replugged, and the Gallery/Camera app still failed in the same manner. I'll try more tests tonight and report back.

                      Thanks!
The camera now seems to begin functioning if I replug it in the usb port, while the Minix is powered on. However, video transmission seems very poor. Over Skype, the video worked for a while, though grainy, but eventually froze up. Hangouts would work for about a second before immediately freezing, (the video, not the entire app.)

Anyone know any means to coax better videoing out of the Minix/Logitech combo?

What a coincidence. I had two odd shutdowns myself yesterday evening while browsing.

I think these are the first shutdowns I have had with 1.7.

I vaguely remember someone writing that setting the "sampling rate" with 'CPU Master Free' from 40000 to 50000 had helped with freezes he had experienced. Also that these freezes were related to the 1920x1080p display mode(s).

I think I also had set the sampling rate to 50000 for testing purposes sometime back. But yesterday (before the freezes) I had booted to CWM Recovery for backing up the system. After the reboot, I don't remember changing the rate back to 50000 (it doesn't persist).

                              Hi, Finless.

I'm one of those unlucky guys with HDMI output problems with the new rom (white lines, tv going out of sync, etc.).

I'd like to try the new test rom from minix (it supposed to have the overlay off and passthrough fix applied, I know your rom has the overlay stuff inside but there is one report that my problem was fixed in the test rom so may be there are more changes than just that - want to give it a try...).

If it'll work I'd like to apply a little o/c to the stock kernel. I recall you had some difficulties in the process of creating 1.7, can the patch-o-matic from phjanderson still be used for that purpose?

                              Thanks!

With 16GB and 4GB allocated for APPs, this seems like a good balance.
                                However, I added a 8GB, 10GB and 14GB parameter file by request.
Thank you for a great ROM, Bob. Just getting into alternative ROMs on my X7 and loving it so far. A question tho, where do I find these parameter files? Would like to change the settings since I run most data from the network.
