Just flashed this ROM, love it! One question. When flashing just kernel, don't erase nand correct? And using flash tool, I reflash everything plus the new kernel? Thanks

First Post and a couple of questions.

        Hi Freaktabbers,

Thank you for such a great forum and a big thank you to Finless for his Rom.

        I just purchased a CX-919II, with AP6210 wifi/bt and board model is 2013-06-17 CYXTECH_RK3188 909 V1_1

I downloaded the Finless 2.0 Beta from the link Finless provided and it works great on my device, especially because the frame rate and buffering when streaming videos via SMB is 100% better than the stock rom it came with. Hope this helps anyone who has just purchased the stick.

I have a couple of questions though if anyone can help:

        1) Is there a way to get Wifi Display working on this rom? The stock rom contained an app, but this one doesn't.

        2) System volume and Game volume are fine, but playing videos via Video Player, MX Player, ES Player etc are quite low, is there any way to increase video sound to the same level as other apps so I won't have to use my TV remote control as often?

        Thanks,

        Guy

It's not really that this ROM is a beta, it's that it's based on beta source. But no, do not expect a final or 2.1. If you want a ROM based on the official source, check D33's "KitKat Kernels for all" thread.

FWIW, I'm running with this ROM and a D33 kernel. If it ain't broke...

What is the best way to get a custom kernel and recovery installed on this ROM? I tried last night and killed the stick, lol..... Any suggestions?

which kernel for Tronsmart CX-919 Rockchip RK3188T Cortex A9 1.4GHz?

Hello - Bob or maybe someone else please - which kernel should I chose for my
                Tronsmart CX-919 Rockchip RK3188T Cortex A9 1.4GHz for your new Finless ROM 2.0 - kitKat 4.4.2 ?

I am not interested in overclocking. I just want a stable setup to stream from the net to my smart TV using XBMC, Showbox, etc. without the reboot and buffering problem. I don't know if the CX-919 Bob used was the T-chip model like mine. I suspect not - so I need to know which kernel would be best for my hardware and not cause over heating or other problems. Thanks.

How do i stop some apps from rotating screen on this rom?
On my son's mx2 4.4.2 rom it does not do this.
Will I need to use a 3rd party app? or are their settings in this rom hidden i can not see?
                  Much appreciated, Thank you

You can use a free 3rd party app called "Rotation Lock Adaptive (Free)" to achieve this. Set the global rotation to Landscape, works very well. Developed by MICGOOWARE.

I also recommend trying Vortex Galaxy as a wallpaper, it looks great on a TV.

On the instructions for this ROM it states you can change the build.prop file to use the original showing the system as an RK3188 device. My question is- Can you change the modified file from the GT-I9300 which is a Samsung Galaxy Siii to the newer GT-I9500 which is the S4. Would this work?

It may allow some apps to work that are compatible only with S4. Thanks for the help out there.

Confirm that CWM does not work on CX919 with Finless2.0 afterward

I can confrim that the CWM does not work on CX919 with Finless 2.0 afterward. Other than that it's pretty smooth and beautifully running.

So I thought i would give this a try and change the simple verbiage from GT-I9300 to I9500. After reboot the system now hangs at the startup screen with the animation moving. So now I would like to recover, and wonder if someone can help. Could I simply flash the system.img file and fix this issue? Will this cause me to loose all of my apps and settings?

                          Please HELP. Thank you.

You should be able to try to flash it again with I9300? I don't have I9500 to try.

I hope you do have a CWM backup to recover from.

I had tried to get the CWM backup to work some time ago, but it was buggy to say the least. So I may have to reinstall.

Is there any way to flash just the system files, and not remove all of the ROM, or will I have to erase the memory and start fresh?

                              Thanks again.

You can restore it back to the previous Finless, 1.5 or 1.6. Use the instruction set from 1.5 or 1.6.

And, yes, you can flash just the parts of Finless 2.0, any combinations of it.
                                Finless Rom Flash v1.37.doc

NOTE: YOU MUST FLASH THE BOOT LOADER (RK3188Loader(L)_V2.08.bin) WITH THIS ROM! If you don't you will be bricked!
If you decide to go back to 4.2.2 (previous) ROMs you MUST flash the loader from that one, not from this new one!
