Ethernet not working

Hi Guys,

Just flashed my cx-921 (8gb/2gb) that I received from banggood with the 'c' image. Everything works great except for the ethernet. I'm getting an IP address sometimes, other times not. When I do get an IP, the ES file explorer -> scan feature shows the IP of both of the SMB shares on the network, but when clicking on the icons im getting 'login fails' message box with a list of possible reasons (WLAN is off, SMB server out of network scope, ip is invalid, etc). Neither SMB shares are password protected.

Wifi works, but I prefer to use the network cable when streaming video.

I read earlier in this thread that someone with a slightly different model had similar issues - but the resolution to the problem was unclear.

Has anyone else encountered this issue - and whats the best workaround?

Hey Adam, never had this problem with sny rom or any device. Have you ever tried to set static ip for ethernet?

Do you can access your smb shares with wifi without these problems?

I didnt try it with a static IP - and SMB seems to work with Wifi. Also, I dont have internet access via ethernet (just via wifi). That tells me its probably due to ethernet.

I reflashed it with Wasser 1.2.5 and the 'new' kernel, now ethernet works great - unfortunately, it is more bloated and not as nice as your release.

Is it possible to create a release using the following kernel - http://www.freak-tab.de/wasser/kerne..._new-1.2.5.zip

I'm running the 720p version.

T-R42 new Kernel does not work on my CX-921 Box, that's why my kernel does not work on your box. On my device wassers K-R42 old Kernel is perfect.
I build pureXBMC V2 rom weeks ago, but didn't released it cause i build it just for me. I will provide V2 version with 1080p and 720p boot.img and different kernels for all here at freaktab. I will not integrate the advanced section at android settings.

Blinking problem

hi.. i am new to all that stuff.. Recentley i bought a android box named Egreat U8. Then i flashed your cutsom rom (pureXBMC_V1-1-1d_CX-921). it seems to be ok but my screen blinking constantly even when installing. I can see anly for e few seconds and then black screen, and it goes on en on..i dont know what to do now any suggestion please? ( flashed with 'restore' option and tried many times)

Could be either T-Chip problem or different hardware. Can you send me your stock kernel or link to stock rom that works on your box. Where did you bought it, do you have a link?

Should be no problem that you don't have it backed up. Ok, think you have T-Chip. I will send you kernel to check that.

OK, please put your device in flash mode and start RKAndroidTool.exe. Select only the kernel to flash, disable all other selections. Got to ROM and start with testkernel3 and then press run. please test all three kernels and report. Please go to android settings, performance and tell me the clock speeds shown with all kernel, if your device will boot with it. please tell me the speed actual kernel shows there before flashing!

testkernel3 > ( Device booted but same HDMI problem ) Current max 1.609 Ghz min 312 Mhz ..Requested max 1.608 min 1.2 Ghz

kernel2 > (device booted with HDMI,.. NO problem ) Current max 1.416 Ghz min 312 Mhz..Requested max 312 Mhz min 1.2 Ghz

Kernel1 > device no booted at all

btw ethernet does not work at all
