    I have experienced some crashes of Wasser XBMC 1.3. It usually happens when I open XBMC, not during a movie. I upgraded from Wasser XBMC 1.2 and maybe this is the reason for the crashes.
    Passthrough works fine for me with 5.1 system connected with optical cable.

    I'm running Wasser KK 1.0.4 with lowest OC kernel from 1.0.3.

    I don't have SPMC installed, but I have KODI-helix 14.0 alpha2 and it doesn't crash and plays flawless big 1080 mkvs. Too bad there's no passthrough with it.

      Hey wasser, I had the most recent version of spmc on my x7 until you released "wasser xbmc 1.3".
      I experienced the crash on start - up with spmc. It didn't happen every time I launched spmc just the odd time. This is the same on wasser xbmc, the occasional crashing on launch.
      If it's of any help I'm running your firmware pretty much untouched bar using the max OC'd kernel from 1.0.3a build.

      I have put log cat on my x7 so the next time I get a crash I'll grab you a log so you can look for the issue if you wish?

      As for passthrough I've not tested it (yet) if I get time later I'll set up my 5.1 system and report back.

      Cheers ant.

        I have experienced some one-off crashes with 1.3. Nothing that could be easily reproduced. After a crash I usually clear the app's cache and restart.

        Passthrough works with both DD and DTS soundtracks.

          I have a environment setup to compile KODI-helix. I will compile one from the masterbranch with the Minix passthrough hack. Will take a couple of hours.....probably I will post it tomorrow.

            Thank you.

            Will you post it here or on another thread ?

              Cool....
              Like Kiralina asked will you start a new thread for KODI X7?
              Also I tried to set up my own build environment for XBMC and it was a massive failure so if you have a tutorial you followed to build the environment could you post or pm me a link?

              Sorry for going off topic!

                kindly can you please re-check this, in my case specific I use "kernel-minix-x7-ddr720-cpu1704h-gpu798h-1080p" but I had tested as well the other OC kernels options with the same problem, losting the functionality of the OTG port. Thanks.
                I want to flash this rom but i need the otg port with oc kernel. What you suggest?

                  Hello i am using wasser firmware 1.0.4 and spmc 13.3.

                  I do have the same problem. I have modified the build.prop and did all the changes .

                  ro.product.model=NEO-X7-216A
                  ro.product.brand=minix
                  ro.product.name=rk31sdk
                  ro.product.device=rk31sdk
                  ro.product.board=rk31sdk
                  ro.board.platform=rk30xx
                  ro.build.product=rk31sdk

                  but still passthrough is not working. Do i have to change/write something else for minix X7 mini version? I did ask on mini x7 mini threat but no one is answering but because both boxes using the same chipset changes will be the same i guess. Anyone has a solution or upload his working build.prop?

                  thanks

                    Did you reboot the box after making the changes to build.prop?

                      Yes i did but with no luck. I selected hdmi passthrough on android settings and then enable passthrough in spmc and still the 5.1 channels are locked

                          Tested and all works like a charm on Wasser's KK 1.0.4

                            How to flash kernel

                            Hi guys.
                            After I have been lurking the thread for a while I decided to flash this rom.
                            The first impact is quite good, it seems really stable and smooth.
                            I had only some small problems at the beginning to adapt display size (it was bigger than my TV size).

                            I downloaded also the oc-kernels-1080p, but I'm not sure how to flash it.
                            Maybe in recovery? (I still didn't try to restart in recovery mode, do I need some reboot app?)
                            By the way, what are the improvements of this kernel compared with the rom's original one?
                            My usage is quite basic, just e-mail, internet, online streaming, few simple games, some videos (usually not in full-hd) with mx player, no XBMC.
                            Is it worth changing?

                            Another question.....a little bit OT.
                            I've never used a 3rd parties launcher with my Minix (I use Apex with my smartphone).
                            Is there any launcher that fits good with TV boxes?

                              Apex works great on my Ugoos UT2's!
                              FLHT = Harley
                              HEMI = 2010 Dodge Challenger SRT
                              Cause I've been asked.

                                Hi Godai!
                                First off its perfectly normal to resize your picture output to match your tv. I think we all must do this.

                                To flash a kernel:
                                1.Download any terminal emulator from google playstore
                                2.Rename the kernel you want to try from the kernel pack kernel.img
                                3.Copy kernel.img to the root of internal sdcard (use included ES Explorer)
                                4.Open terminal emulator and type these commands:
                                su
                                flash_image kernel /sdcard/kernel.img

                                There is a space between kernel and /. Don't miss it !

                                Finally I use Nova launcher it works fine. I also use the GEL icon pack which looks cool on the big screen.

                                EDIT: For your usage the stock kernel will be fine. Using the OC'd kernel makes the device faster basically. Some x7's can't handle a lot of overclock so bear that in mind.
                                Also no XBMC!!!! Man you need to Google "how to install mashup on xbmc" and watch a tutorial. Your missing out on soooo much!
