I tested the Minix with wifi and Bluetooth disabled. Same thing.
I have a K-R42 with the same KitKat 4.4.2 kernel and firmware installed and I see the same Ethernet behaviour.
It would be very interesting if you do NOT see this behaviour. It is super easy to test...
1) Just boot the Minix up without the Ethernet cable connected
2) go into Android settings for ethernet and watch the status.
3) plug in the Ethernet cable
Did the Minix "connect" or does it still say "unconnected"?
I have to physically remove the cable and plug back in, or toggle the check box to make the Minix "connect"
If no one else sees this, then it must be me.
thanks for feedback!

i will check it today if i can reproduce it too.

No Sound options for selecting output either......
Has anyone used this kernal successfully?
i'm working on sound device manager for kikat atm. The gui part works fine now but somehow the backend still has problem by switching sound device.

Need some help and input with some issues please!
So I flashed this with the 720p kernel it comes with and the 720p kernel that has BT, IR remote, and everything working and I get similar and different issues. I believe it has to do either with my Tronsmart air mouse, my usb wireless mouse, or my box/tv doesn't like the 720p kernels. Here is what is happening. With the stock 720p kernel with Tronsmart remote or mouse, it boots but as soon as I move the curser the screen blinks and four inches of the right side of the screen disappear, keeping me from choosing my language. With the New 720p kernel, with the remote plugged in, it will boot, but have systemui fc's nonstop. If I boot it up with the new 720p kernel and no remote or mouse hooked up, systemui will not fc until I pluh the USB receiver for the remote or mouse in. I've read through all the posts, and my guess is to try the 1080p kernel with working BT, WIFI, and stock remote. Does anyone have some ideas or also had these problems and found a fix? Unfortunately my son misplaced the Minix box, so until I find it, I'm w/o the stock remote :/ Sorry this is so long, but I'm hoping someone has some ideas, because I really want to run this! BTW I flashed Quickshot V2 and it's working with my air mouse, usb mouse, and whatever it's stock kernel is.

Also standing by to test new iterations of the ROM
particularly on the sound side
Other parts are pretty stable

Ethernet connecting to network
I purchased another Minix X7 from Minix. Before flashing it to KitKat, I wanted to see if the stock Minix 007c firmware had that ethernet issue of not connecting if the Minix was allowed to power up first before the Network was available.
The stock firmware behaves correctly. If you plug in the ethernet cable AFTER the Minix powers up, the Minix will detect it and connect.
After flashing to KitKat, I ran the test again. If you plug in the ethernet cable AFTER the Minix powers up, the Minix will NOT detect it and will not connect. If you remove the ethernet plug for a second and plug back in, it will "Connect". Also, if you toggle the check box in settings, it will "connect".
I know this is a minor issue. I just wanted to document it. This is great Firmware for the Minix for anyone who wants to use their device with KitKat.
EDIT: Hi Wasser, I just noticed on the previous page that you were able to reproduce the ethernet issue. That's great news. I don't know how I missed it. I read this forum everyday. Sorry for posting the bug again after the fact.
I'm really loving the "cpu1704h gpu600h ddr720 1080P" that you posted on 2/5/2014Last edited by georget; 24 February 2014, 14:55.

Perhaps once that objective is reached it can
be extended to other chip sets.
Give these great guys a break
Or better still, start your own thread.
