The actual tool that Wasser provides is the RKAndroidTool
It is in the download of the ROM

You need to select the Loader RK3188Loader(L)_V2.08
not the V1.24. The file is in the Rockdev folder
Just click on the right most column of the tool, to browse and select

First time round just leave all the other files as they are
and you will load the basic image

Later you have to read this entire thread to decide if you want a diffiernt
parameter file or an overclock rom

I got '' INFO : run ok " in log info of the rkandroidtool but now i can not restart my minix.
Please help me

Before you answered me i try a new time with
loader, boot, kernel, system files at the same time
and i got no error in the rkandroid's log but i can't to restart my minix.

Maybe i forget any file or anything else ?

Do i really load the original firmware to get it back ?

Instead of going the Static route for UnblockUs, try the free app DNS Changer. Set UNBlockUS as your custom dns.

This would be very elegant But unfortunately, i can't get it to work as i hoped to:

- UnblockUS needs to know my email address, kinda like a username. I cannot specify this in the DNS changer app

- In UnblockUS I can select 'Netflix region'. I cannot do this in DNS changer.

- It might just be my fault, but DNS cnanger seems to work only with WIFI and 3G, not with LAN

Well, atleast now we are 3 people with the same experience with static IP settings, it is both good and bad that i am not alone When v0.93 is released it will be like xmas!

Hi Flemming. If you give me simple, step by step instructions on how you are setting a Static IP, I will try it this weekend on my Minix X7 running this awesome KitKat firmware. I know how to get to the Static IP area in the menu, put I do not know what to put in the fields.

Honestly, you do not want to try this. When it fails, it means that your only option is to reflash the firmware!

All the info is in the Ethernet settings. You need to insert the same ip, netmask and gateway in the static settings. For the two DNS fields you can use any DNS you want. A nice one is Googles own
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4

But realise that you will most likely not be able to boot your box again until you reflash the firmware. I can get to the boot anim, the 4 revolving spots, and i cannot get any further.

Hi Flemming. No problem. I will try it in the name of science. I will use the same IP, Netmask and Gateway that were automatically assigned by my router's DHCP, and use the Google DNS. I'm curious to see if this is related to the other ethernet issue that was discussed a few pages back. I'll keep you posted.

Flemming, i'm using a old dlink router with ddwrt software, and did put in ip, sub, gateway, dns manualy on that, then i do connet my x7 with wifi so i get ip from that ap and "right" dns to unblock..
So i have "2" wlan, my normal and 1 i call "unblock" :-)

Another option is to put in that dns in your primary router and let all devices get dns to unblock..

The above setup works perfectly for me. I use the unblockus app in play store to update ip address and netflix region on my smartphone.

But about flashing, i don't know what files i have to use : RK3188Loader(L)_V2.08.bin ? system.img ? kernel-neox7.img ? boot.img ? parameter2 ? parameter4? parameter6? parameter8?
and what is the first one, the second one ... all in the same time ?

Two tips from me. If you have access on your wireless router to make changes, do this:

- Set your DHCP to issue addresses from 192.168.X.100 and up.
- When you use static IP's mixed with DHCP, they cannot overlap with the address range of the DHCP, so you can use any IP as static from 192.168.X.2 to .99 and wont cause any network problems.

I am reporting a bug. A bug that more users than me is experiencing. I did it because i hoped that the creator would look into this. I really wish for this kitkat rom to be error-free, for all of us.

I can get by with a workaround, but this may not be very appealing to future users.
