Can someone briefly describe the overlay that is mentioned...
My NEO x7 should finally be in tomorrow and I've read a lot of people mentioning it... but I have yet to find a description of what it provides ( what good it is for ) or why people don't care for it. I can handle the technical description... but others that may be interested may not.. so just in as simple terms as possible would probably be best... of course, a link to where this info is at is also welcome
Thanks

Hi !
First , sorry about my englishThanks for this release. Very good with Beyonde XBMC. I have a little problem. I can mount an external hdd (EXT4) but only manualy. Can anyone help me how can i do this automatically with script in init.d ???
Other question ...
I use a hdmi capable AV receiver in my home theatre system. HDMI (passthrough) dts and dolby digitall works well, but the DTS-HD and DOLBY TRUE HD does not work (only downmix to dts). I read a post before this chipset not enough i2c bus capabilty to passthrough HD Sound (DTS-HD, etc.) on HDMI . Is it real or not ???
Regards

About mount with init.d what command you write to mount it manually? I will make the script in init.d and give you instructions to add it to init.d

Thanks for that, but I wasn't really asking about the device itself.... but about the overlay you mentioned not having enabled by default because the team didn't care for it... you have it as an option only.
To decide if it will be of some use... users like myself would need to know a little about it. What does the overlay provide... and why is it not such a good idea that you have it disabled.
I can find no specific info able the overlay itself... I just find people saying they do or do not like it.

Leolas :
"About mount with init.d what command you write to mount it manually? I will make the script in init.d and give you instructions to add it to init.d"
Well, i installed an ssh server on the minix and i connect to this with putty as SU (PC - ). I use the next command :
mount -t -ext4 /dev/block/sda1 /mnt/sdcard/someDirectory ... or somthing similar
So can you send me a script what i use to autmount an external drive ???
Thanks!

Thanks leolas,
I can see how something like that overlay could cause problems with output detection... not to mention having another layer of software to slow things down a little bit.
Also, sorry for the delay getting back to you about this. I got my NEO x7 in and started doing a basic setup with it just to see how everything was on a stock ( OO7c ) ROM before I flashed to something else. The WiFi reception on the NEO x7 compared to the QX1 is amazing... and to think the QX1 had the best I had seen before that point. With both the same distance from my router... the QX1 with the external antenna is getting a decent -45db signal with an occasional -40db... the NEO x7 is just about -31db ( don't know the best it gets yet )
Fortunately ???? the QX1 is failing in under a month and Geekbuying is going to refund me on it after I've shipped it back. They offered me a new one with the RK3188-T chip, I said I didn't want that because it wasn't what I ordered and what other options did I have to get what I ordered... and the refund was all they offered so I'm going to take it.
Well... I've reflashed the QX1 and have it boxed back up... I'll ship it Monday I guess. Now I just have to play around with the NEO x7 as stock for a bit so I can move onto a better ROM ( ie QS v2 ) ... but only after I get a little experience with it as is.
Thanks again,
Randy

leolas.
Wasser's KK ROM is one I'm likely to try later. I like the ROMs from Bob also but I don't like the bootanimation being built into the kernels, a small thing but I like simple basic ones, and his aren't simple and it isn't easy to change. Example, your own QX1 v1.5a was a little to flashy for me, so I changed it to a simple rotating android.
Still... I know exactly what you mean about checking several out... I did the exact same thing on my cell phone ( Bionic ).
No... back to checkin' out the x7
