What's the problem if flash with tincore? youve promoted tincore guys and i like it.

Well, i tried to make a quickflasher version for this 720p, it works on my box coming from a 1080p kernel and with small icons patch applied.

Remember to use small icons patch before quickflashing this kernel.

OK, tried the 720p Kernel and Im very happy with the results! At first I was at 1.8ghz/798hz/720hz and got 21k Antutu score. Now Im at 720hz RAM and get 19800 Antutu score. I used to get 3480 3D score with 1080p kernel, now I get 3080 3D score. But its not even overclocked, well only RAM. And the most important thing the ACTUAL gaming performance improved noticably despite the lower score. Emulators support 720p resolution better and all android games I have work smoother. Score isnt everything And when you upscale to 1080p you still get same score and same performance and almost old 1080p look. So if you are a gamer, you will want to use this kernel or later more OC'ed ones. I bet 1.8/798/720 720p kernel will rock for gaming.

Hy guys!

I tried to change the kernel to RAM OC 720. I do exactly as the manual say, but when I open the Tincore Quickflasher I can't see my package. Under package select I have four ????.
I extracted the zip file in the \quickflasher directory on my SD card.

What am I doing wrong?

You should only have three in the folder unless you purchase the paid version.

What level of know how is needed to complete this ?? I'm new to this and I am afraid of messing up my minix x7 am I better off getting more experience first or is it child's play???

You will need to determine if you are up to it... don't expect others that don't know you to guess at your skill level. Read the instructions that are given... then you decide.

You don't use an IMG file... you use the kernel files that are available to download. Don't extract them from their individual zip files...

If I flash it with the overlay flasher, will it affect the games or video playback only? And one more thing, is this a change of a single parameter only which is video.use.overlay=1. Just a bit concern because there's no rollback for overlay flasher. Sorry for this noobish question.

The only difference with this kernel is the resolution, 720p instead of 1080p, nothing else.
BTW i'm uploading right now a full 720p kernelpack. Antutu gives around 21k with the highest OC kernel

I'm also uploading 4 patches using a different approach to make changes. Now we can combine them, you can use big icons with overlay ON
The patches are:
1) big icons
2) small icons
3) overlay ON
4) overlay OFF

I'll post the links ASAP.

The Minix website that I linked you to earlier has the images of the ROM's... you can download a clean one from them.

For backing up apps and data... I use Titanium Backup but it requires root access and the default ROM does not have that.

For info about what this ROM ( Quickshot v2 ) has... see the first post for the list of features this one has and you will know most of the differences.

thanks for your reply. i have just been looking at the web site and this. but im going to hold off for a bit, the 1 i have its a new box 2 i have not flashed 1 before. plus i have been reading that the ota update does not work. does it work with original firmware and the rom update i think it is it just say your box is up to date but my image is dated 17/12/2013 and on there web site it has a image 1/1/2014. so should i try that if the ota is working with that still on 008 thanks.

I only have tried 007c... then went to a custom ROM ( Quickshot v2 )
