Hi Folks. So here is my 2.1 ROM with BETA 2 of ClockWork Mod.2.1 is really my 2.0D with all of the fixes found to date and I have added CLockwork Mod. Now the testing of CWM was odd I must say. Most it worked for. Some had problems which I cannot repeat myself. It works for me 100%. Heck I can even flash 2.1 and restore 2.0 with no problems at all and visa versa. Remember though. If you backup say 2.0 and flash 2.1 and try to restore 2.0, YOU WILL be back on 2.0 if you do a full restore! This is because it writes boot.img and system.img BACK! THis is in fact how CWM is suppose to work folks! If you want to try a "advanced" restore and restore your data and setting you can try it. Do an advanced restore and ONLY restore data and cache. If it does not work well... thats the way it goes! CWM is never a 100% gaurentee when you try to restore from different ROMs.Now for those that dont want to use CWM.... Don't! It will not effect how the ROM works at all! Just on first boot after flash you will get the CWM menu. Select reboot now. DONE... you will never see CWM menu again unless you want to.Want to know more about what CWM is? Read this:http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/...omplete-guide/Also in the new APP Injector package is Petrus' reboot app. Install this if you want to reboot into recovery from the OS. Other apps wont do it for reasons I have gone into before. It's how Arnova decided to remove support for recovery from the kernel.And more good news! I got permission from the maker of Button Savior! So that is now cooked into the ROM as a system app OK for those that do not know what 2.0 is and want to know before flashing 2.1 which again is 2.0 with fixes and CWM, please read this post:http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...OM-Version-2-0Now last tidbit. Again this does not support 3G sticks. I have explained why many times. I am using the latest Arnova 10 G2 "philly" kernel. This kernel has fixes in it that in my opinion are needed over what the old 10 G2 kernel had. BUT when Arnova made this kernel they killed 3G stick support. I have tried to make this 2.1 ROM using the old kernel but it has major problems with the honeycomb framework. So I will do my best to try more to get 3G sticks working but there is no gaurentee! Sorry but dont blame me for this. Hey finless,Check out goo manager on the android market and watch the video. Also check out teamw.in! They have made an app that easily puts a new firmware rom on each device! They have a lot but they don't have arnova tablets . Knowing the stuff you have put on this site, I think you should contact them. They need arnova roms from somebody that has the tablets and knows how to do it ;-)

I will have a look but let me tell you, most those apps work with architectures that are very different than RK29. Due to the structure of boot.img, Recovery, etc... Most of these cannot deal with it. Arnova crippled Recovery on purpose! This is why you do not see ClockWork Mod (which took me a TON of time to do and get working right), CyanoGenMod, ROM Manager, etc...

But I will have a look...

Also I had problems flashing the firmware. Do you think that if I download the .zip file, I could use goo manager to install it? I don't want brake my tablet but I want know if you think that will work?

What problem did you have?
No I do not think anything like goo manager will work. With my ROMs you HAVE to use the RK29 flash tool period. Follow the instructions please. EraseIDB and flash the new loader. It works for others so should work for you.

It didn't work for me cause I'm a noob at all of this and I'm very cautious about doing this cause like i said i dont have the money to go out and buy a new one and I somehow couldn't accomplish it :-( I was hopping for an easier way are you sure even the new kasty v .zip firmware want work? Sorry about all the questions but I swear this is the last and thank you so much for the help :-D

There is no way to do it unless you follow the very well laid out instructions.

First thing is first get the drivers installed- follow this guide

Now download the firmware you want to use from the Rom Developers Kitchen.

You cant really get it any easier than this, just follow the read me file when you extract the zip you download. Rockchip devices are extremely difficult to brick!!

Thanks damo I will try again the first time I got to the update driver part and for some reason it said that it downloaded it buts its not compatible and wont work . Ill try again and thanks again sorry one more thing...do I download the rom onto the tablet or computer? And what's rom developers kitchen? Like I said ima complete noob :/

The most important thing is getting your drivers installed, once you have done that than than the rest is plain sailing. Dont be put off it all sounds a bit daunting, but we are here to help if you get stuck along the way.

For the benefits you will get from using one of Bobs roms, believe me it will be worth it

Also let me just state... YOU CANNOT PERMANENTLY BRICK this tablet!

So once you get the drivers installed, you can flash all day long! If it bricks, you can reflash it. You can flash it with the stock update.img, Kasty, what ever you want! If it wont boot.... you can always recover it!

Of note..... I know your a n00b... Once the drivers are installed and are working with either the RK29Flash tool or the RKBatch tool.... NEVER and I mean NEVER try to reinstall the drivers! They should NEVER need to be reinstalled! That is the biggest mistake n00b's do. It is not needed.

Nothing against Kasty ROMs but until you have my GingerComb, you will never want to go back to any ROM built off the Arnova system ever again!
Heck... Kasty ROMs do not even implement EXT4 properly! So even my 1.5 ROM out performs anything else out there for Arnova's. Sorry but it's the truth! I have not spent MONTHS developing my ROMs for nothing
