    Hey R!

I installed the 4.4.4 rom. It does have some nice features I like; the privacy settings, better menu's, ... While working with it, had no reboots, ...
The only thing that seemed to be incomplete is the widget system. The widget menu does not have all the widget we're used to (calendar, gmail, ...) Probably this is due to half of the google apps not being thre in the beginning.
I tried to flash those, with luck, but still couldn't get the widgets to work.

Anyway, that's a short recap. I was looking into dumping the rom for you.
No luck so far, i can't seem the device to recognized to switch it to programming mode.
What are the thing I should be looking for?

    - set usb debugging mode on
    - deactivate all other modes (mount as external storage, ...)
    - ...

I'm using RKtool 2.1 and also tried manually to connect through adb.
Is there a key combination I should know of? How do I boot into "fastboot"?

    EDIT:
    ok, allready found this:

But what I'm really looking for: I remember being able to boot into a "fasstboot" menu on my phone.
Anywone know of other things to try or where to look?

    Edit2:
ok, i have "android composite adb interface" listed in device manager.
Tried to match pid and vid in rktool to recognise the tablet
    MSC_VID=0x2207
    MSC_PID=0x0011
Rktool now sees the device, but no luck into making it switch to programming mode.

    edit3:
    got adb access over network

ok, I think I may have something here.
After trying multiple ways to get rktools to work and getting adb through usb,
I thought of simply using adb over network.

      Got access!

      So what I did:

      >adb connect 192.168.0.135:5555
      accept on tab
      >adb shell

      >>su

      >>mkdir /sdcard/dump
      >>cat proc/cmdline>sdcard/dump/cmdline
      >>dd if=/dev/mtd/mtd1 of=/sdcard/dump/kernel.img
      >>dd if=/dev/mtd/mtd2 of=/sdcard/dump/boot.img
      >>dd if=/dev/mtd/mtd3 of=/sdcard/dump/recovery.img
      >>dd if=/dev/mtd/mtd8 of=/sdcard/dump/system.img

      dumps:

Hope this is what you need.
Let me know what else you need or I can do for you.

Well done Kheno! I installed this update via recovery (thanks to M-M-C and his easy to understand instructions) I must say it appears to be much quicker than previous KK but as you say Widgets are missing. I tried downloading various Widgets but to no avail - just can't get them to show in the widget pane for dragging on to Homescreen.
Another problem for me is I need 3G to work. Pipo "sees" the network but won't connect.
        Regards

I have a question but I don't know if it's related to the rom or not.

Anyway, is there a way to get the hdmi to output at 1080p 24hz ? there's only 50hz and 60hz.

I'm mobile...at work...so I can't do it myself. Could someone please start a new thread for this 4.4.4 ROM? And direct discussion of it there?

                    Bootanimation.

Hi, I would like to change the riley bootanimation for the original pipo one. Where can I find it?
The only problem I have with Riley's is that I'm probably sending the tablet to the store in warranty, and I'm not sure if they won't accept it because the non original rom.

Could someone please help me? Thank you.

Easiest thing to do is - Go to PIPO website (http://www.pipo.cn/En/index.php?m=About&a=gujian)
Download the newest KitKat software & RK Tool Package. Load the rom to your tablet & you'll be back to factory software. You will find instructions on the site if you are unsure of the process.
                      Regards

I will prefer not losing the root and not acquiring the original bloatware, thanks.
I suppose it is easier to simply download the correct bootanimation and change riley's one.

Hi, I downloaded this bootanimation and changed riley's. But the tablet still show the fireman badge at first, and then this boot anim. Is there any way to correct this? Thanks.

Very funny! I meant no harm just to express my opinion on the boot screen. I prefer the stock PiPO screen than a fireman badge
