I was able to read and write to an external attached hard drive with my neo minix neo x7 with the same hard drive so why can't this work with the vega s89. Just wondering.

NTFS? yes thats no prob to do actualy - NTFS-3g supports that just fine. We just need to enable this in busybox/scripts. NTFS-3g mount RO by default so some developers with some time could just rectify this? At this stage we just trying to fold our heads around getting to build all the sources and producing a good kernel etc. The next step would be to start tweaking the ROM for this kind of thing. Its not can? but rather when all these smaller details gets resolved. For meantime paragon should sufice for this need.

Ah thankyou, i ended up using FTP Server on the s89 and Filezilla on pc, they see eachother easily, but same problem im trying to get around, i made the Storage USB NTFS folder my home so i could get access to it, and yes i can copy from Android to PC but not other way around, it must be because the USB im using connected to Box is NTFS.

Ive tried the paragon thing but its confusing, as when i load it up its already mounted my drive! The box on its own sees my 4TB NTFS without the need of paragon and works fine, i just cant write to the drive via pc or another usb connected.

But custom codec from XDA ARE for SW decoding... So if you want to use them of cause you have to enable SW decoding at MX...
If you have a -H and MX with HW decoding did not decode the audio at that video, maybe somethings wrong with your MX and/or the video...

Thanks no spam for your input but i think i solve it i use the same mx player 1.7.26 with the custom codec and the only think that i did different was that i 've installed archos video player with all videos codecs plugin and now i have sound in mx player without choosing sw decoding just hw decoding i actually saw 300 rise of an empire in my measy with finless rom thanks Bob, thanks no spam for your help

Why does Google Search not work?

I have written previously about this but got no answer.

I have 2 Vega 16Gb S802 units.
One is running Finnless 1.4, the other is running Finnless 1.5.

Both work fine on almost everything except,
neither works with Google Search.

"Unfortunately, Google Search has stopped" is the message I get everytime I try to start this service on either machine. I have the following 6 questions and hope to find some answers.

1. Does anyone else have this problem?

2. Is this also not working in Finless 1.6, or does it work there and would you recommend I update to it or wait for Finless 1.7?

3. Could someone explain why this is?

4. Could someone offer a solution to fix this?

5. Is Google Search purposely disabled because it is considered useless bloatware?

6. If that is the case, can it be re-enabled?

It's a known bug right now. It's even on the last Minix ROM.

Is it normal that Netflix runs better with Wifi than Ethernet? It seems that the ethernet "driver" is not perfect :P

Running netflix with ethernet cable it freezes for half second and then continues to work for a few seconds and then freezes again but with WiFi runs smooth

that's a new one. Haven't heard that problem yet...

Me either... is the very first time that Wifi works better than Ethernet.

Can you be more specific about what data needs to be cleared in the apps list?

So would you say that if I cleared that data and updated to Finnless 1.6 it should work, or is it that this data clearing is a constantly repeating maintenance?

I'll take your 'Stay tuned', as meaning 'wait for another Rom release' instead of updating to 1.6.

I assume you would like to hear about all issues we encounter so you can address them in the future?

Is possible to add a setting switch that would "spoof" apps to see an active WIFI connection?

Some apps disable certain functionality when connected through Ethernet only. I don't know if this is done to protect us (phone) users from data charges or to enable better data mining. In the case of some games, basic downloading and installation is disabled without WIFI. Some can be installed turning WIFI on, but then after disconnecting and using only Ethernet, refuse to run.

This is of course only a minor annoyance and should not let you dilute your more important efforts.

I have so far not found a way to spoof it, iplayer doesn't work unless on wifi either.

Yeah I use Iplayer via XBMC plug in , the only way it works
