This is what Anna Ye said on pipo facebook:
M9 old pcb Motherboard : 2 NAND, 8 storages each, total 16gb M9 new Motherboard: 16gb nand, 1 pc of nand chip And this 4.4 firmware can be used for all new PCB Motherboard but not all old PCB Motherboard.
Getting confused since it sounds contradictory to her email to riley & what dnkn discovered.

I've wrote to Pipo explaining that the problem exists, they believe that their kk ROM is fully compatible, but it's not. There are few ppl on our Russian forum who also got bricked.
As for identifying the 2chips version, seems like flashtool's log may show it.
my version shows
4 times 4096 Intel
So if yours show 2 times 8192 that is compatible one I guess. Don't have one, so can't confirm.
I tried to adapt this ROM for the old loader but it does not boot. Serial console shows kernel crashes. Nand module crashes, no sources available even in leaked SDK, so there's nothing I can do. I can make a "Frankenstein" version with some part from this ROM and other from another pipo tablets, but...I don't think I should. It definitely will be buggy.
I think it may be helpful if some of you who bricked will write to pipo's support that you've bricked your device with 06042014 firmware that may open their eyes on this problem. Don't mention Riley ROM . rr2.6 based on 06042014 fw,and it's no Riley's fault that it bricks some devices.

Bricked device cannot be reflashed . without shortening the pins inside the case...

Ok!!
Why not try to download a "System Info App" and run it on your tab while you have "jelly bean" on it, the system app will tell you if you have one NAN or two, if you have two nand, will it not say 150000 or some number. That "High" number means that you have the wrong tablet for this ROM, if it shows "4000 or what ever the low number is, then this rom will load, I tryed it on my "PiPo and my Galaxy Tab 3 Both are "16GB", and the pipo showed the low number (4000?) and the Galaxy showed the High number and I know that the Galaxy has One nand, while the Pipo has Two, and right now I have this Rom loaded onto the pipo max9 16gb wifi only.
Check it out and see for yourself, the sys info app shows you everything inside your tab if you have root...

Hi ghforlife!
Which "System info app" do you exactly mean? Could you please send us a link about play location?
Thanks!
