I am not an expert but I only can see 1 chip, isnt it?

I would not recommend. you would likely brick your device. you have one chip ("16" is written on it)

Really bricked?

I have tried Rileys and the arctablet one two times. Get the fail message in red after flash.

But im been able to reflash it with a 4.2.2 image again afterwards. Its not getting bricked.

I have checked on my tablet and on a random sample of youtube videos i don't have any a/v sync issues with this firmware using the mobile web YouTube site (I use Chrome browser).

Im unable to play anything through any browser from m.YouTube.com all I get is a black screen,then if I try selecting a different video the browser hangs.And if I try streaming anything from www.FilmOn.com the audio is out of sync by 1 second.The YouTube app works fine though.

I got m.youtube videos working again,it must have been something i did but im not sure what exactly,it may have been because i was checking out Dalvik and ART,the proplem persisted on a new(dirty)install.a full system wipe and clean reinstall sorted it out anyways.Still got the sync issue with FilmOn.com but i can live with that.

Files I copied over to get the M9 PRO ROM WiFi and sensors working on M9:
system/lib/modules: rkwifi.ko, rkwifi.oob.ko, wlan.ko
system/lib: libhardware.so, libhardware_legacy.so, libsensorservice. so
System/etc/firmware: MTK_MT6622_E2_Patch.nbo, WIFI_MT5931, WIFI_RAM_CODE_MT5931. Change DPI from 240 to 160 in build prop to get correct screen size.

That's cool. Is there any advantage in this? Performance, compatibility, responsiveness? I wonder if it may give us a window into further updates via M9 Pro.

Seems a bit snappier to me,but that could be due to it being a fresh install as well,it runs really well.locations are working on this rom.

Could another benefit be that if Pipo actively update the M9 Pro firmware but ignore the M9 Max then we are able to make the new M9 Pro firmware run on our M9 Max.

I booted m9pro and u8 KitKat fw on m9 in December already, but there were problems with WiFi/BT and overall it was very laggy. Main problem is bricking . it's bootloader what bricks 1nand m9s and I ran those ROMs on old loader but these new ones do not run on old loader in any way.
If someone would send bricked 1nand m9 to pipo that could help them fix the problem. I will not as I live in Russia and our post is very slow and parcels get damaged sometimes. I was able to build the whole kitkat ROM with everything working, but the sources were for TV boxes and the ROM was really slow in 3d and overall. And then I lost my data partition and my backup HDD also somehow lost all of it's 1tb of data. So I could not continue my research. That ROM worked on old loader. So we should hope rockchip will fix their bootloader for 1nand chip m9. But they are busy with 3288 soc, so it's doubtful that they will fix that bootloader.

I can't get Bluetooth working on the PRO ROM,I thought I had it working but it was saying it was visible/searching in the settings menu but not actually functioning.I don't know what else to try copying over.This is the only thing not working.EDIT:Got Bluetooth working

Here's how I got Bluetooth working:Uninstalled Bluetooth share(incompatible)and reinstalled the Bluetooth.apk from the M9 Max as a system app,copied this file over from vendor/lib: libbt-vendor.so,
then these files from system/lib: libbluetooth_jni.so, libbluetooth_mtk.so, libbluedroid.so, libbluetooth.so, libbluetoothhd.so, libbt-hci.so, libbt-utils.so, libbtio.so.
Everything is working perfectly now,this ROM seems to run a bit quicker and location is working.

It uses the same loader unfortunately so yes it will still brick single NAND tablets sorry.
