Post #127? I'm running it now and it works perfectly, something's changed in RileyRom2.6 making it incompatible with my tablet it seems.

So you aren't actually running RileyRom2.6 then?Has anyone successfully flashed it yet?

        Hi,

Can I double-check with you what you've said:

        1. You have 2 nand chip version.

        2. Downloaded original firmware from 2.5 thread provided by Anna Ye, not rr 2.6

        3. You used rkbatchtool 1.7 to flash update.img

        Is that correct?

        Thanks!

I extracted the original firmware images from the update.img and tried flashing them with the ROM flash tool included in RileyRom2.6 and that wouldn't work either. With the working official beta firmware already installed I can reflash the system.img and it keeps working but if I try reflashing even the stock kernel it won't boot and needs the entire update.img reflashed to get it working again,is there some trick to flashing kernels with the Gen 2 loader?

Yes I have, but this is the problem with this tablet, that I'm seeing, some things work and others do not. I downloaded the OS from the link on rileys 2.5 thread not knowing this could happen and it works real good. I have been trying to get the one from "OMA's at xda devs thread, to work on my tab and it would not work, then I came across this one and it does, it must have something to do with the motherbroad, old vs new I do not know, I only know that it work's on my tab and I am greatfull to that, good luck with yours....

Yes, however I did not know at that time, this os would/could brick my tab. It was only after I had loaded it onto my tab that I found out that it could, I was very lucky...I should have read more, before trying it, but I was so greatfull to have a "Stock KitKat" for my tab.

The image from the 2.5 thread is an official beta designed for the M9 MAX so it works well,if you flash that entire image first to get the correct loader/kernel e.t.c on your tablet then reflash only the system.img from OMA's V88 KitKat ROM it will work but you will need to edit the hwrotation= in the build.prop So the screen isn't upside down,i know this because I'm currently running it.What I can't work out is why RileyRom2.6 isn't working correctly.

Just curious... did anyone brick their tablet flashing the original beta firmware instead of rr2.6 ?

I've flashed the official beta firmware several times now and it runs fine,I'm only having trouble with RR2.6 for some reason,I'm hoping someone can confirm if RR2.6 works for them.

No, I downloaded the " original beta firmware" when it first came out, then rr-came out with his verson, of the same (2.6) My copy is rooted and I used "Rock chip Batch Tool v1.7" to install Update.img.

I said that, I have been trying, OMA's verson and could not get it to work, because of the rotation, all of OMA's roms does not work on my tablet even if change out the kernal (PiPo Max M9). Some other rom as well do not work on this tablet, but if you read in xda you see that some people are having the same problems with the pipo m9.

My tablet works realy good with this rom, why Rileys rom, does not work on some and do on others, I do not know, it is the same rom, just "Rooted" and blot-ware taken out. He does "GREAT" roms, at the time this KK came out, he did not have 2.6 out.

If you would like here is a "link" to the same rom, read it and see what you thank; ,(http://www.arctablet.com/blog/forum/...ware-20140604/) this person does good work also.. but if you keep on reading you will see that this tab works with some not with others..

Sometimes you have to use a little process of elimination to figure out why things don't work.

If you say the stock version of this firmware works, but my ROM doesn't, there must be something I've done in my process that prevents the ROM from booting on some tablets.

In the past, I've encountered problems booting from something as simple as a bad graphic file in the boot.img, or kernel.img...or a boot animation that doesn't seem to work. I've also had problems with too much debloated...or a module that I've loaded that hangs the boot process.

Because of this, I've done a redo of this ROM (2.6.1) with:

                                Different boot animation
                                No boot.img graphic
                                No kernel.img graphic
                                Less debloat
No insmod for the ko modules

Let's see if it will boot. Can someone test this for me and report?
