    I figured out my issue. I have the box connected via hdmi to my receiver and then hdmi from the receiver to the tv. Somehow the box is telling my receiver to bypass the sound when the tv is on...my first clue was on xbmc the bypass audio device shows "android box and audiovox". I turned off the tv and I get sound, if I unplug the hdmi going to the tv I also get sound. My receiver settings are correct to process sound and not bypass it. Other components plugged exactly the same way work perfectly fine, so it is the MIII box.

    Is there a way to fix this with settings or ROM modifications? I have tried all different combinations of the accessible audio settings without luck.

    Thanks

      I can now see there is not option to use / control the Bluetooth from setting menu.
      Secondly I'm now at home and can potentially see the issue

      The build.prop from 109k4 has this line:
      Code:
      #used in packages/apps/Settings/.../Utils.java
      hw.has.bluetooth=false
      Clearly oman has disabled it from the setting menu, at this time I don't know why?
      Using a build.prop editor you could try editing from:
      Code:
      hw.has.bluetooth=false
      to
      Code:
      hw.has.bluetooth=true
      Then reboot and check if the option is in the android settings menu.

      Hope this helps

      all that means it off by default when unit starts up

        I checked the build.prop in stane's fw, it is also false but bluetooth is working....dont think it relies within build.prop

            I have heavy stuttering with the mxplayer that comes with 109k4.
            So I deinstalled it. I downloaded/installed the current version from google play store.

            still stuttering and now even audio pass through is gone.
            What are the settings to do to get audio pass through?

            b.t.w. VLC for android works perfectly but no options for pass through available.

            PS: Deinstalled again with cleaning cache and data to app.
            Stuttering seems to be gone now. Still missing Audio pass through.

            PS2: Got it working. Just a simple RESTART was needed... LOL

                  Go into display setting to try setting display to manual.
                  It may be that auto detect got it wrong.

                              Have you tried it on another tv?

                              Blinking off and on can also be two other possible failure..the cable or the hdmi port soldering.

                              Cable a easy fix

                              Tv incompatibility is unlikely but possible so another tv would be a good test.

                              Port can be fixed.

                              Also could be a crappy flash which does sometimes happen if old firmware isn't totally deleted.

                                My source in China tells me that this is a known fault with this device.
