As for the ROM just to say something useful

1.4 Everything works great but Wakemescottie is not working properly for me. I experienced the same on 1.3, the only difference here that it starts automatically.

Description:

When i turn off the device its ok, but when I try to turn back on I need to push the red button twice or thrice to keep it alive.

Finally the speed: i only tested via cable. It was 90mbit down and 45mbit up.

very weird with wakeme scottie I know it sensitive it only needs a quick power on as it will turn on and off pressed for too long.is this on m8n or m8?

dalvik cache

hey guys i have this rom and flashed a few times but still no wifi i have both 2.4 and 5 in my house my router is capable of both. OG rom showed wifi but when i put this on no wifi. Ethernet works but only with 10 megs down on a 50 meg down. curious someone mentioned to do a dalvik cache clear. I know how to get into recover via the toothpick reset button way but in there is only wipe data / factory reset and wipe cache which i have done multiple times but i know its really not resetting all settings since each time i go through the set up i had to lower the screen size to 97% that is holding true each time which when i first did the install it was at 100% and i lowered it down to %97 since my screen was not displaying all.

how do i wipe dalvik?

thats the thing when i go to recovery mode i select clear data / factory it clears it i dont see an option to actually clear dalvik cache? I have an M8 OTT box if that matters.

clear dat/factory --> delete all user data

also people when posting please post you model number and if you can picture of the pcb to assist any forum member try to help you.

thanks Justme i have an m8 OTT box. So does that mean clearing data/factory is clearing user data because that is not happening for me like i said i have reinstalled the rom 3 times now and each time it is holding the setting of the screen but first time i installed it was at 100% and now each time at 97% so not all data is getting cleared. Would you suggest maybe putting another rom and then coming back to yours. Once again the rom is fine i just cant see any wifi and im using the 1.4 version. 1.3 just gets stuck loading halfway so i can only get 1.4 to install rom is fine but only works on ethernet with 10 megs down off a 50 meg bandwidth. all other devices including my other 3188 android device sees 50 megs.

Try another rom first then update back to 1.4,

m8 ott does tell me much.

crap now its bricked i think. I put finless on and then when coming back to 1.4 it took the flash - rebooted and then nothing on the screen. Blue light turns on but display blank says no input on screen. Is it bricked? I am not having any luck with this darn box. Any ideas?

looks liek box from SZ Tomato, load up finless rom on to sd card the recovery, zip file and the factory param file and do the toothpick in the av and it should automatically start to flash the finless rom


you also do know in my notes there is a 30 to 1 minute delay of black screen before it goes into settings?

which factory param? yours or finless? and finless does not have recovery in there so i can use the recovery from yours?

update
i tried recovery from yours used toothill blue light on no display on tv left on 1 hour and rebooted still nothing after.. will not update. so which recovery should i try ?

did not work any other ideas nothing ever pops up on screen waited with button pressed for 3mins
