Hi Codesnake, was this issue resolved in the later (Kodi) builds? Would you say the M8 performs better on your newest ROM than the Gotham version? I'm not sure whether to upgrade or leave my device as it is.

Thanks again for your work on this.

I think while Kodi is in beta stage, it is better for you to stick with Gotham, because many addons/skins are still incompatible with Kodi.
Don't remember about the issue you mentioned.

          +1 mate, it's called "versionitis"

Some may want to help to improve learn and test.

If everyone sat back with Non-versionitis....would we be where we are now.

            Think about it..

            Cheers

Yes, they are called betatesters. They test before the software becomes stable enough to be published. The point is, betatesters know how this works and they don't complain, they just report and make constructive comments, just because it's mission is to find and report as many bugs as possible. People complaining on alpha, beta and rc, that people, mate, are not betatester. They suffer versionitis.

                  All well and good Gents.
Maybe I was over-generalising your comments as they where first read.
Unlike Jumbo jet engines that stop winning when they land.

Like yourselves I made an observation and acted on what I read.
Sorry if i disturbed your concentration.

                    Noob question

                    Hi all,

Searched the entire thread but couldn't find the answer and would hate to make a mistake.
Which file from the OP should I use? Is the: OpenELEC 4.2.1 for MX2/G18 (new MTD) with XBMC 13.2 Gotham:

the right file for my M8?

And am I right when I do the following:
                    1. Power of M8
                    2. Insert SD with extracted .ZIP file
                    3. Press and hold reset button and turn on power
                    4. Let the M8 do it's thing
                    5. Enjoy OpenElec

Would love a quick and clear answer

                    Happy regards,
                    Skroif

I especially used BIG RED letters to make obvious that the above release is for MX2/G18. Why do you think it is for M8?

There's no stable release for M8. But you can use the latest beta version: https://github.com/codesnake/OpenELE...arm-4.95.4.zip

Today i got my M8... and installed your latest rom.
But i have a small problem: I have a philips tv with easylink.
