CEC would make this the perfect platform for the living room. Thanks indeed.

With my Mx2 I get close to zero buffering wired or wireless. With the M8 I get a lot of buffering wired or wireless so far on everything I have played.

The M8 is considerly faster then my Mx2, especially when going through the add-ons.

On my Mx2 I get a best wifi signal strength of 75 and on the M8 I got 100. So I'm curious why my M8 buffers so much and my Mx2 doesn't buffer at all.

I use a Motorola SB6141 Modem and Apple AirPort Extreme router and have no buffering at all with wifi on any of my 3 boxes upstairs or downstairs with the Mx2.

Anyone tried this with M8N V1.0 PCB. Does it work?

Ok I hooked up my Mx2 and I'm actually getting some buffering on the same shows as I was playing on the M8. So all in all it looks it might actually be my internet or the actual sources.

I guess I should've did more comparison before I posted my other posts :-)

Thats funny, I almost did the same thing. Some of the streams were buffering, I checked on my laptop and it was doing the same thing.
So far it's good on my M8, I can't use the school function on my mouse but I have a keyboard/mouse hooked up too so it's all good so far

It seems that all other builds of OpenELEC for S802/S805-based boxes I have seen on the Internet are based on my original work for Amlogic G18 (MX2). And I wonder why these guys use my work, release their own builds, but NO ONE haven't contributed even a SINGLE commit to the original GitHub repository. Moreover some of them don't even bother to release their own modified source code. Doesn't that look a little unfair? How do you think?

Great work on this rom, I've installed on my TRMk1 (S802) and it's running beautifully. Unfortunately it doesn't recognise the Wi-Fi module or the standard IR remote but wow it's fast . Just been testing out some streaming via ethernet and 4 episodes in not a sign of any buffering when streaming 720p files

No you are correct. This is my first time ever using openelec and I searched for awhile until I got to yours and after tracing back you've been pretty busy lol. At least a thumbs up or shout out to you is the least they could do since you've done a ton of work

To use your work without at least an acknowledgement is just plain rude!

For as much work you've been doing for the Mx2 and now with the M8, you should be having shopping sprees at Amazon. But I guess not

Just navigate System->OpenELEC->Network and you'll see an option to enable wireless.
