I will say again, because some people don't seem to understand.
This is NOT a kerbers build thread or even the correct forum.
Please taken it somewhere else, thank You.

Loving this ROM on my new M8. Kept my Android MX3 as wanted to compare (not sure I have flashed the best of the 2 boxes with your OpenElec based ROM).

My biggest question is 4K. I will miss this at some point. My TV is connected and unlike my MX3 (Android), the M3 with your OpenElec doesn't give the option. Will it ever be enabled?

Slightly off topic as a relative newbie to XMBC, can I setup this box in OpenElec with all configs/addons etc. and then if I reflash with new build in future (say Kodi instead of XBMC, 4K support etc.) can I restore all my XBMC settings/addons etc.??

        Thanks for the great work

[UPDATE] I managed to get the following ROM working on my M8 box (OpenELEC-Amlogic.M8.arm-4.97.3-update.zip) and whilst I found I could get the 4K resolution working fine with my TV, the interface was a little laggy and any attempt to play the Big Buck Bunny in 4K caused the box to freeze before playing.

I have there given upon on 4K under linux on this box and installed OpenELEC-CodeSnake-Meson8-K200-update.zip and this is nice and zippy at 1080p. I hope one day a working linux based ROM will exist although I have now found that Acestreams don't play under Openelec and so this gives me a headache as I watch many? I have read that this is lack of support for Acestream under linux on ARM7 processors. I really hope I don't have to go back to android or building a minipc.

I'm having a couple issues with the M8 box now.

First, the wired network keeps dropping connection. I have tried static IP and also DHCP and it'll connect for a while and then drop. A power cycle or unplug/replug power will mostly fix it but not always. I seem to have read somewhere that others were also experiencing this but don't remember where I saw that.

Second, power cycling the M8 seems to put it into standby mode instead of completely off/on. My MX box seems to completely shut down and then do a full boot up when powered on. When I power off/on the M8, it comes back to the screen I left off at. So my thinking is that if there's a network connection drop and I power cycle, it won't restart to attempt to fix the issue but instead come back where it left off even at the bad network state.

Has anyone had these issues? Any fixes?

                      Hey codesnake^^

Any news on a 5.0 kodi build for the M8?

And i have another issue. maybe you can help.

I'm using the ARC to play the sound on my soundbar. but when i turn off my M8 the ARC doesn't work anymore on my other divices.
I tryed any combination of hdmi ports. but nothing helps, i have to leave my M8 on to have ARC working on my other divises.

                      Thanks

Where do I see this info? I'm just using O menu to see skipped frame count.

                        23976 / 23970 is something I'm unfamiliar with.

Has anyone ever figured out what can cause the splash screen freeze up. Codesnake mentioned it could be a corrupted file system. Is there any type of commands or something else I could do to see if there are any corrupted files?

I've seen this happen mostly when the box is powered off and then powered on within seconds.

I did notice an unmount error showing up when I rebooted my box.
