[ROM] OpenELEC for Amlogic-based TV boxes (M8, MXQ, TV110, MX2/G18)

Hi @ codesnake. I'm using a M8 with a square remote and since your version is mapped for the oval remote I was looking for a solution to change the mapping. As far as I remember the solution was:

The configuration file is in /etc/remote.conf, but it is in read-only filesystem. Instead you can create a startup script and run amremote_config /path/to/your/remote.conf

Copy that line to a notepad file calling it autostart.sh putting in the correct path and file name.

A good path for the remote.conf would be /storage/.config/ as its browsable via windows. So copy the remote.conf there

Copy autostart.sh to the path /storage/.config/

Reboot.

That is not working (anymore). But if I am correct you had created another solution by just placing remote.conf in ???? Does this still work, if soo where do I put the remote.conf file?

I see a bug now in remote configuration script. Will fix in next release.

I installed OpenElec http://amlinux.ru/image/6.0.0/OpenEL...0.2-update.zip.
The application works perfect except the IR remote control.
I tried some of the solutions suggested by baal77 and codesnake but no luck (maybe I was going the wrong path).
Can anyone suggest a solution for this problem?

It's a crap shoot when buy M8's anymore. You never know exactly what you're getting.
