    pigbait If WiFi works for you in MXQ build after issuing a modprobe command, why not try putting it into autostart script?
    thanks but i don;t know how to make device tree.
    how to i modify the 1st recommendation to load wifi?

      pigbait Does your remote not work at all with MXQ build and new keymap or only some buttons don't work?

      phinc This is incorrect. Amlogic S805 is a Cortex-A5 CPU which implements ARMv7-A instruction set.

      jackmate You can modify ramdisk using Android Image Kitchen http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2073775

        kszaq - on Your opinion p2p streams addon should work on mk808b + with openelec ?

        Comment

          kszaq, So I moved the remote.conf into the MXQ DIR once I git cloned your repo, (thanks for that) and built a new ROM based on the MXQ, with the remot.conf file you made for this box the remote works awsome. now you said I need to add the lines modprobe 8189es to the auto start script, my question to you id can this line be added to a file in the repo before i build a rom. so I dont need to redo a script if i factory reset openelec.

              citizenjc It's not possible to boot my builds from USB stick.

              kamacnik1 If you mean P2P Streams addon from Enen92 @ Github - yes, it should work with limitations mentioned in addon's FAQ.

              pigbait You can put 8189es instead of wifi_dummy in this file for the module to load at boot: https://github.com/kszaq/OpenELEC.tv.../wireless.conf

                      Was just about to report this. Also, a question: How do I do the aforementioned "clean install" when using the sd-card method? Anything specific? Because I would like to go back to the stable version but I'm afraid to break something.

                      Cheers

From what I looked into bootloader source code, you may be able to enter recovery by repeatedly pressing Menu button right after powering on the box - and you should be aware that even if it works, you'll lose that ability after flashing OpenELEC as the included bootloader is intended for devices with recovery button and not without. If the Menu button method doesn't work for you, you can either use Terminal Emulator or connect over ADB and issue a reboot recovery command.
                        kszaq Thank you for that kszaq.

                        Thinking forward I have a Tronsmart TMS01 2.4 Ghz remote for the MK809 Plus. I am thinking that once flashed with your Openelec ROM this remote will not work; correct?

                        Is there a default keyboard or keyboards supported by default once flashed with Openelec for this device?

                        I am in a bit of a pickle as somehow everything on menus that I click on for the MK809 Plus now seems to run the browser by default under Android. With Geekbuying dropping support for this device I don't know what to do to flash the new Android Update ROM as I cannot execute the update instructions as detailed in this link:

                        http://blog.geekbuying.com/index.php...ased-20150403/

                        Even on a cold boot it keeps running into this cycle.

                        I pretty much have to get Openelec going now to regain use of this box or consider a new box.

                        Thanks.

                          I also just notice this, there is no menu sound, i played and audio FLAC worked well, this is on both 5.95.3.1 and P19, thanks again for all your time and efforts

                              nvm, just noticed openelec doesn't work at all on the av port. Means that at the moment I can't ditch Android on nand (I often need to use the box on an old tv).

                                Thanks Kszaq for the great work.

                                I had a HD18Q with Kszaq's OpenELEC 5.95.3.1, and found that dynamic framerate switch is not behaving as expected. As I enabled it in the system menu (Settings -> Expert Level -> Videos -> Playback -> Tick "Adjust display refresh rate to match video"), the system framerate doesn't change still.

                                When I use SSH to get in the shell, and execute
                                cat /sys/class/display/mode
                                Will finds that "1080p" is applied , even when playing 1080p24 video. To change the HDMI output to 24Hz, I executed follow command
                                echo "1080p24hz" > /sys/class/display/mode
                                To force the output to 24hz, which result most smooth playback for 24p videos.

                                I had tired several mode setting string for different video, and found optimal settings as following:

                                "1080p24hz" -> 24Hz Video
                                "1080p23hz" -> 23.976Hz Video
                                "1080p50hz" -> 25p/50i/50p Video, from UK/PAL Region
                                "1080p59hz" -> 59.98Hz Video
                                "1080p" -> 30p/60i/60p Video

                                Just checked the XBMC source ( https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/blob/ma...s/AMLUtils.cpp ) contains AMLogic mode switching supports, Just don't know if it is for Android version only.

                                I will try a custom build , with modification on CEGLNativeTypeAmlogic::ProbeResolutions() in xbmc/windowing/egl/EGLNativeTypeAmlogic.cpp
                                to override the supported display modes, and see if the problem can be solved.
