Ahh yes that's the reason for going with a box like the MXQ's over the sticks...I have good wifi with my stick so it has not been an issue, but i can see where it is nice to have the ethernet option on-board.

Looks like that is the new S905 chip...I dont think that there is a working openelec yet for those...Keep an eye on this thread :

i would really not jump on the S905 wagon anytime soon, it usually takes quite a long time (months) to get stable firmwares, it's usually a much better choice to go for the mainstream (older) processor / board revisions.. Everything is about community support not so much about latest hardware.

Besides, that S805 cpu is really quite powerful already (maybe S905 has more advances hw decoders i don't know, but S812 has 4k hevc and has OE6 firmwares available).
I'm running VPN + Torrent + kodi on a S805 / OE6 and it's having no trouble dealing with that, even at ~100Mb/s speeds (usb storage). That was impossible to achieve on the older dual core arm chips and not as good with the slower RPI 2.
Decoding HD does have an impact on CPU load and does slow down openvpn/torrent processes but i have yet to see the box or kodi crash, and even better it's barely getting warm..

S805/OE6 works with HEVC nicely for me too, but only on 8 bit HEVC. According to Kodi website, S812 is samel:

This would actually be the only reason why I would go for the S905 box. I thought I had read somewhere that it was supporting 10bit HEVC. But maybe I made some confusion...

All those anime series can't be played on current devices as no manufacturer made any h264 decoder with 10bit support..

does it play through Kodi or other mediaplayer on the box? Also does 10bit HEVC play through Kodi and which version of Kodi is on the box?
