in my coutry all items received from China, over 10 eur, is charged with customs tax aprox 4% and over 150 eur with customs tax and 20% vat. if your SF express (witch i never heard in my country ) will come to my door probably is not need to pay anything, but if product arrive to my customs office i must pay. That's the rules.
DHL make delivery at the door but they charge two time, once on your site and once in my country for making customs in your name and for door delivery. so except maybe fast delivery are no advantages, financial speaking.
Registered airmail was fast enough for me 15 to 20 day from order date (if no delay on that ), except now when they loose my parcell . i called postnl even in Netherland and they can not find package.
Actually in my country if i will have a response on the investigation you make, especialy if package was stolen, i can go anytime , anywere and find the one responsable, but without something concret i cannot do anything.
i will put short version of my story here :
Order Number: #3804131
One of my order from 18.10.2016 never arrived, Tracking shows even now : parcell arrived in country of destination on 05.11.2016
other orders from Geekbuying arrived with no problems even later one.
So , when later order arrived and this one no, i started to worry.
I start to send emails, to make calls and allways they give me same responses: waitt more, or go to the postal office, customs office, ask mailman.
i did all that things, even more i called PostNL few time , make invoice, alot of comunication with tracking support.
Until i called Geekbuying service manager ( number on the site) Wake up at 3 a.m, in my country and called. Was a lady who undestend english very well and explain the situation. She said me to wait untill the end of the month (november) and give me his word if nothing shows up i will get refund.
i waitted, ofcourse emails and calls to my customs, finally they let me make a complain on-line but without base , they don't have the tracking no in sistem and only expeditor can make official claim
So 1 december called geekbuying all day, service manager not responded and i decided to make paypal dispute.
2 december, she finally answer my call and in few minutes said i will be refund in 1or 2 day's.
3 december they emailed me to close dispute in paypal to refund. i was reticent and i didn't do it, but today i changed my mind, is about trust, i closed dispute, i called on geekbuying and in 10 minutes i have refunded money in my paypal account.
That's why RESPECT Geekbuying.Last edited by criszz; 05 December 2016, 10:59.

I'm so sorry,we have the rules on geekbuying site. Geekbuying not responsible for the custom duty
If you refuse to sign the package or clear the custom just because of the tax affairs, your package might be destroyed by the custom officers or forced to send back under the huge returning shipping fee and tax, in this case, customers are responsible for paying all these bills.

The key issue here though is that according to the courier, you specified the incorrect value of the item that was sent and this was the cause of the fine because in most countries, as far as customs and local laws are concerned, the responsibility for import of goods lies with the buyer.
So in order to establish who may be responsible for the heavy fine, Damac10 firstly needs to find out what the value was specified on the invoice and compare this to the amount of $125 that was paid.
I'm sure that in many countries, customs can be contacted directly as most also have a procedure in place for appealing against such fees and fines.
Without this information, any claims against Geekbuying at this point are speculatory.
However, your own records should show the amount declared on the invoice, so if you can produce a copy of it for Damac10 to inspect, then this may go a long way towards resolving the issue, which may be an appeal to their local customs.
Here is second response from Geekbuying email today. How does this resolve problem?
'we have declared $30 tv box for your order, nice day.'

In my complaint to aftersales I emailed them the invoice from their courier TNT which clearly shows the Customs Duty is $10 .. The Fine is $40 and the fee arising from handling the fine etc from TNT is $35. The courier stated Geekbuying is responsible for fine as it was their fault due to incorrect value declaration which I did not request. They refuse to understand FINE and Duty are two different things and they can verify everything with their courier TNT.

However, and this is something that you will need to check with your local customs, it may well be that the laws of your land make you wholly responsible for importation, which includes declarations, even when not requested and out of your control.
If this is the case then you may well be stuck for the fines unless Geekbuying accept (at the very least) their moral responsibilities in this case.
The one alternative open to you of course would be a Paypal dispute, where they can make the final decision but just be aware that they may take local laws into account.
One point of realism though, which is the same for most, if not all Chinese vendors is that for a long time now they have all adopted a general policy of declaring much smaller values than the actual cost of items on the basis that whilst some might get caught, with fines levied, most will get through with little of no taxes or duties being levied and therefore the buyer tends to win far more times than they lose.

Please note that the order amount at GeekBuying.com you pay is not including taxes, VAT or other charge of import goods. All import taxes / duties are the buyer's responsibility. GeekBuying.com will accept no responsibility for customs costs incurred.
But please note that sometimes tax may still be charged by your local custom for no reason, and this is all related to your local custom policy. For more information, please consult to your local custom office. And we appreciate if you can get back to us immediately for some useful information about the package declaration.
Please let us know if you have any special packing or labeling instructions when placing your order. If you haven't other requirement, our warehouse people will declare low value(about 20 USD or less) and the name of " gift" on the package without informing you as years' of custom experience shows us that it can help customers lower down or even avoid the tax.

I sincerely doubt it because it would almost be seen as illegal in pretty much every country.
And if it doesn't then you will have demonstrated that you failed in your duty to declare the correct amount, morally, contractually and legally.
Therefore if this is the case then you must be liable for the charges over and above what a recipient may be expected to pay based upon the correct declaration.
