    Forgot that part ...

To my knowledge, you won't brick it. You'll just be reflashing 1.6 over it with the new kernel.

Bricking is usually reserved for when you make a device inoperable. Soft brick means it can be revived with software tricks and hard brick means that either it is completely dead or it needs a special device to revive.

As a follow up (for those having similar issues) to my HD Monitor issue. I realized that the previous build that worked was one of Finless's earlier (1.3 or 1.4), not 1.5. I never flashed 1.5A.

I've been playing with OmegaMoon's kernels ( http://www.omegamoon.com/blog/ ) that he has made that play with the HDMI driver. So far, mixed luck. I was able to get a red-overlayed picture with no sound. But others have seen this fix their black screen issue for certain TVs. Worth a look.

          Hi Bob

If cifs module is already in kernel would you know how to get cifsmaager working to mount an smb.

From every thing I’ve read the error I am getting “no such device or address” is because cifs module is not installed or recognized.

Or is there a was to mount an SMB without using cifsmanager.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

          regards,

          The Bozz

No sorry never messed with the SMB thing.
When I tried to insmod the cifs.ko I got an error that it was already in the kernel so I did not add it to the ROM. Now if it works or not, I do not know. Oh and I assume you are using the kernel I supplied and not another one?

Guys, my MK808B died yesterday Actually I used it just once or twice. It's a shame that it breaks down so easly. This happened to anybody else?

Root: For some reason I don't have Root. "su" is there, but it won't actually run. ( su doesn't get me a new su shell. su -c id doesn't show anything for example ) CheckRoot, Titanium, or any app that needs root to run come back and say they can't. SuperUser shows "denied" in the logs, regardless of the setting to grant/deny/prompt.

Ethernet: After every boot, the network isn't working. I have to disable and re-enable the ethernet connection to get an IP address from the router. Timing issue on some script? Assumption that wireless is enabled? ( I have wireless disabled because its plugged in to Ethernet ) That's pretty minor, but thought I would mention it, might be an easy fix for the future - maybe the assumption is that wifi is the default and enabled.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Just to follow up - I hate it, because there is no real reason for it, but the simple "re-flash" fixed the root problem. Just had to do it.

Andrewott: Sorry I doubted you ... reflash .... root works. Oh well.

If you are asking me, I used 808B.
