    MK808 1.7c is now available.

    OK I updated the first post of this thread with the new 1.7C for the MK808 Original (non-B).

    Fixes the mouse zoom function and also adds the new libstagefright.so to enable hardware decoding in XBMC.

    Go the the first post and the new link is there.

    Here it is as well.

    Now lets hope no other bugs are found!
    Seems the MK808B and the Sunvel clone still work great!

        Hi Bob.
        First of all thank you for your work.
        I don't know if you have tested the 1.7c in a mk806(the one with the headphones jack) but there is no sound from the headphones and in the sound output devices there is only rockhip hdmi.
        If I am not mistaken, at least with the 1.6 rom the sound was working...
        Thanks for your time

          I do not have a MK806 so thus cannot test against it. Sorry some driver must be missing needed for the MK806 that was in the original ROM used for the 1.6 ROM. This is an entirely new system and not a copy of 1.6. Maybe one day I will make a dedicated MK806 ROM.

                Allright.If you do make a MK806 it will be nice.In any case 1.6 was pretty good by itself, so...
                By the way, do you know any way to stop all those apps that autostart and eat so much memory?
                Have some serious delay when I use VNC server to control the miniPC from my laptop,
                and it surely is not the connection.It almost uses 400MB ram out of 1GB from the start(Media server uses 250MB for example)
                Thanks

                  Im a stickler for a 100% fresh install so I don't have any bugs. (honestly I'm a flashaholic so it gives me an excuse to play with in more. )

                    Hi,

                    I'm rather new to this. I just received my MK808 yesterday (actually it is the second one, the first one was exchanged under warranty).
                    So yesterday I installed Finless 1.7b and installed already some apps.
                    Now I see there is already an update and I was wondering if I could update without losing my settings and apps I installed so far. As far as I understand it is not possible, but I just want to be sure!

                      Download titanium backup and backup all user app, not system, on sd card, flash rom and restore app with data.

                        WIMO

                        Just a heads up. I was researching the WIMO apk that comes on the 808. It looks like you have to have an R-Box from Rock-Chip for this to work. I guess the WIMO apk is the "transmitter" and the R-Box / TV-Box is the "receiver".

                        Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDJxNS_mDuk

                        So its kind of pointless to have it on the 808 unless you wanted to mirror it to another TV/Monitor. We need the R-Box version of the app for our 808s and then the WIMO apk on our phones/Tabs.

                        I may be wrong but that is how I interpreted it.

                          I think both apps are in ROM already. There are RKWiMoRcTx.apk and RKWiMoRx2.4.20_121009.apk. First one is system service running in the background even on my Samsung phone, second one is "graphical" application you can run. Don't know why, but the service can't connect to the application. I can see packets flying around in tcpdump but thats all. Application is not responding to these packets. I think we are missing some settings. I found this file in RKWiMoRcTx.apk:

                          <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
                          <PreferenceScreen android:title="@string/wimo_quick_toggle_title"
                          xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android">
                          <CheckBoxPreference android:title="@string/wimo_quick_toggle_title" android:key="wimo_enable" android:summary="@string/wimo_state_close" />
                          <PreferenceCategory android:title="@string/wimo_client_list" android:key="wimo_clientlist" />
                          </PreferenceScreen>

                          I'm not an android master, but i bet it should add WiMo toggle option in MK808/phone settings...

                            is it only me, or does the download hang at about 170mb?

                            several times now I tried and all of them it goes really really slow I am assuming as nobody else said anything its only me, so I am going to try with another browser

                                I have tested wifiadb and works perfect we can do patches and aplythem using adb in a very easy way to do all the testing then the firmware can be packed with the updates
