      MK808B ethernet adaptor problem

Hi and nice work with this custom roms. I have a fresh arrived MK808B original version from geekbuying. Just flashed it with finless 1.7 rom for MK808B with the 1080 img and got a problem with an usb Lan ethernet adapter. Got it from china from buyincoins.com and the android stick does not see it. The driver has the chipset HG20F9 and the linux and windows drivers can be found here http://m2.img.dxcdn.com/CDDriver/160918.zip
Any chance of geting it to work on the MK808B? I only have Windows 7 on the PC, hope it will work. Any answer is good, thanks

      Sorry if I misspelled anything

        Bootloader problem.

Friends , I just flashed the Finless 1.7 Rom . Looks great, but when i restart to bootloader ( flash mode ) , there is not the lie down android with Green exclamation mark , ensteed there is Android with RED exclamation mark , and the computer don't recognize it anymore. Do you have any suggestions how to fix that. This is quite serious because I can't flash anything anymore.
Is there any way to flash bootloader image ?
        Thanks in advance.

          Finless 1.7c MK808(original)

First I would like to say, thank you Finless for your hard work !

I flashed this rom a few days ago and I want to share some user experiences :

In benchmarks this rom does not score very high +/- antutu 10000 (1416Mhz performance).
But the 1.7c rom does feel smooth and snappy also file transfer and network transfer is fast and stable.

3D performance in games was faster in your previous 1.6 rom but more games are compatible now.

I like the auto hiding tasbar but sometimes you need the settings button from the tasbar but when you pull the taskbar up it immediately disappears so you cannot use the settings button.

I also like the scroll option for the mouse wheel but you have to push the scrollwheel for pinch2zoom and when I push the scrollwheel its hard to scroll, you can only scroll a little bit then you have to release the scrollbutton, push it again and scroll another little bit. May be my mouse (Microsoft laser 5000) is a bit crappy or may be I am not using it right.

I do not like the New launcher but I can see that a lot of people are digging this Metro Block look. I like Apex launcer or the default launcher

I have one little problem with this rom : When I use the default internet browser sometimes when I am browsing the browser throwsme right back at my desktop and it seems like the browser had crashed, when I start it again the browser does not remember where I was browsing.

I also have a problem with the RKremote tool, It only sees my MK808 when I enable WIFI and when I use the RKremote tool it is not very stable.

Before I used finless 1.6 + 2dark kernel 1.4 but when I used XBMC the MK808 got very hot in hardware mode with libstagefright update.

In this 1.7c rom XBMC works great in labstagefright mode, I can watch a couple of episodes or movies and the MK808 gets warm but not very hot.

I am using the xbmc-20130219-32e99c7-android-hwaccel-armeabi-v7a build from xbmc.org

720p files from icefilms play very nice without dropping frames or juttering.
SD content plays without diagonal crunching.
XBMC does not crash anymore in hardware mode.
12Gb+ MKV 1080p files from HDD or NAS do play but only a few frames per sec and more frames are dropping than are played.
Other plugins such as wareztuga, oneclick, 1channel navix etc does not work properly.
But enough about XBMC, that's another story.

The performance/stability/heating ratio of this 1.7c rom is the best I have encountered.
With the 1.6 finless+1.4/2darkKernel I got the best performance ever, The latest Omegamoon kernel
is also very fast at higher cpu freq.
The down side with this kernels is heat

Overall I think this is a great rom. I tried most of the romsets/kernels from september till now and this rom feels stable, fast and keeps the MK808 really cool.(I have standard cooling, 2 pieces).

            If this one not work...

            Hi Leolas,

thank you very much for your help and for your time,
I tried this evening, now the driver is recognized and when I use the insmod smsc... the installation is fine and No error are displayed.

Using lsmod command the driver is up and running.
Using Logcat the eth driver is recognized.

Unfortunately when I connect the phisical device to the USB (either OTG or USB port) the Mk808 move on Hang state and I need to reboot the device.

I would like to thank you for your work, I think there is no way to get this Chip up and running on Android Devices. I will send an email to SMS-C corporation saying that "unfortunately" this device is not compliant with "our Forum" ;-)

In the default launcher scroll works to pass a screen to another (in desktop mk808). This unfortunately does not work with HD GO Launcher.

You mean the pages are re-loaded? If so, I believe it is because Android is "killing" the process.

For me it works perfectly. Before I wore Finless 1.6, and recent Finless installed 1.7, then the Rkremote (which I had on my cell) did not find my MK808, then installed the version that came with the Finless 1.7 and everything was perfect!

                  Thank you Leolas,

Just tested the driver and here are the results:

                  Code:
                  su
                  insmod system/lib/modules/asix.ko
                  Results in:
                  Code:
insmod: init_module 'system/lib/modules/asix.ko' failed (Device or resource busy)
                  After a reboot:
                  Code:
                  dmesg | grep asix
                  Results in :
                  Code:
<6>[ 1.047046] usbcore: registered new interface driver asix

However, the device is still non-functional (I don't even see the device getting power). The sources I gave were not supposed to have the usbnet.ko module, so my apologies for confusing you (I was confused myself). I will try to find out the sources for the usbnet module.

Do you have any clue what might be the problem?

The Rkremotetool only works for me over WIFI, I use an USB-Ethernet adapter.
When my Wifi is disabled I cannot discover the "eHomeMediaCenter", when I disable my ethernet and enable the Wifi I can discover, connect and remote control the MK808 so that works kinda.
The rkremote app is not very stable, I crashes often on several of my phones/tablet. (Nexus S, Gallaxy Nexus, Desire, Advent Vega). Also when I enable Wifi I have slow unworkable connection so, I can use the RKremote app but the connection on my MK808 is so slow I cannot even stream music or movies.

The Rkremote tool is a nice tool but when not compatible with ethernet adapters it is kind of useless.

With the browser I mean that sometimes when I am browsing with the default browser suddenly it flips me to the desktop and when I reopen the browser the pages are NOT reloaded so I have to type in al the URLs and reopen al the pages I was browsing.

I also discovered that you cannot disable the display sleep, 30 minutes is maximum.

The crashing of rkremotetool is to do with the auto rotate of the phone. If you disable auto-rotate, then rkremotetool will stop crashing. Took me a while to discover.

hi everyone, tried to install 1.7 after enjoying 1.6 for months now, but it just wont work!
when i intall the driver for win8 it says "code 10" and the flash tool wont find the device ofcourse...
really frustrating after having no problems with 1.6
                          any ideas

I use the exact same USB-ethernet adapter from DX, the strange thing is that the tool works over ethernet but when I want to start the rkremote tool I cannot discover the eHomeMedia. When I disable ethernet, enable Wifi I can see the eHome. If I then disable Wifi and enable ethernet I can connect to it. So it kinda works but I have to do 4 actions to connect.

I use my MK808 as NAS with FTP/Sambadroid/PowerNZB/Dlna server, so my network connection seems ok, I download with 6 MB/s and over ftp I get a constant 12 MB/s also streaming to my LG tv works fine.

Also wathing movies on my MK808 works fine I use XBMX and I can watch several movies without a network hickup.

Also I use the Yatse XBMC remote and that works like a charme.

I also use a remote app for my TV and I use Youtube stream to LG tv so it seams that my personal network is working ok, the Rkremote tool is the only app I have problems with on my network.

The crashing of the app is the rotation I turned auto rotate of and no more crashed,

Thanx for this info. That problem is solved

I install Trickster MOD, but when I run it, it errors out with BusyBox v1.11.1 found but v1.20.0 minimum is required and refers me back to the BusyBox installation/update page.
So I install BusyBox from the store. When that starts up, it informs me that "More than one copy of BusyBox was found.". I'm not sure why this is but go ahead with letting the app update itself to v1.21.0.
If I then start Trickster MOD, the app will work fine.

However, after a reboot, starting up Trickster MOD will result in the same v1.12.1 found error.

Can anyone tell me how I can trim the system down to just one BusyBox installation that can be updated?

                              Cheers!
No one but me has this problem with the wrong version of BusyBox being detected?

Cats, for backward compatibility I put busybox in both /bin and /xbin.
When you install a new busybox it asks you where you want to install. I think it defaults to xbin.

So what you should probably do is use ES file explorer and delete the busybox in /xbin and install the new to /bin. Or visa versa. which ever you prefer.
