FYI: Glad to have no problems here with defaulting to my usb ethernet card after reboot. Switched wifi off and ethernet on, and it stayed that way since. No problem.

Really??? Are you getting an IP address for your NIC after every reboot??
I seriously cannot get this to work.. WiFi disabled, LAN on, restart = No IP
What NIC and ROM version are you running, if i may ask?

Hi people! I'm Brazilian and I acquired a MK809II. I want to know if any ROM of these works with my MK809II. I'm furious with it , because my movies (720p and 1080p) are showing lags.
I already try update but my MK809II don't appear in my PC. Can someone help me, please.

I am using one of these wii usb lan adapters from ****, connected to a fritzbox 3170 which acts as a wlan repeater for a fritzbox 7170 if this is of interest. Newest Finless 1.7, but this also had worked with Finless 1.6 already. System acts as a samba server running sambadroid (pro from the market) sharing a 2GB disk. Everything is configured to autostart fully automatic. Works perfect.

I too have no problem booting up to a working internet with a USB ethernet dongle. I use a rocketfish wii adaptor (model RF-GWII008) which is Asix based and Finless 1.7c. I've simply set WiFi off and Ethernet on.

Check to make sure none of your apps are turning wifi on or checking for wifi connectivity. I had your problem when SSHelper would look for wifi connectivity on boot. I turned that option off in its settings.

Bob, does your ROM support sysctl.conf? I want to disable ipv6 but could not find the file in the usual places. If not, how to accomplish said task?

I've put your 1.6 ROM on my older MK808s and it works great.
I got a few newer ones now (MK080Bs) and i tried putting the 1.7 for 808B
which you have listed below. (i 1st erased the former ROM) and now after
the burning of the ROMs they don't even boot up. i turn them on, and absolutely
nothing happens... what should I do?

Incidentally, when I put the regular 1.6 ROM version which was for the MK808 (without
the B) they at least booted, just that the bluetooth and wifi wouldn't work (which
is why i tried the other ROMs for 808B).

any hints appreciated.

How to get the web cam working

I run 1.7c on an original 808.
Installed Skype and tested with two different webcams, "Microsoft Life Cam Studio" and "Creative VF0640"
On both camera the microfone works but the video doesn't. Tried to start the camera app, at first it gave a black picture but with shutter button, then crashed. After that the camera app crashes for both web cams.
Any ideas if there is a way to get the video working?

hello, first of all thanks for all the hard work bob!

i have been using the finless 1.7C rom for a week now, and have been very happy except for one issue. I am experiencing severe lag. My K400 touchpad response slows to a crawl, sometimes taking 5-10 seconds to respond to a touch input. I have used the same keyboard on my main PC to ensure it was not the touchpad, and all is well.

Now i did try to remedy the issue on my own before asking here. First i switched the K400 to a different USB port. Next I went and flashed 2Dark's 720p kernel, but the issue remains. I then installed android tuner and set the CPU to performance 1.4ghz and still i have this lag. It is most pronounced when i go to the stock Finless video preview page, where it shows 6 active video previews of the films located on my USB hard drive. I have no idea what else i can try!

any ideas? Thanks in advance! Below is all the info regarding my situation.

When flashing, after data has completed downloading to flash, device always fails check at approx same place [roughly around 180 MB]. Any ideas on what can be causing this? If need be, is there a way I can disable/bypass the checks?

I have tried flashing both your custom ROM, and the stock ROM without any luck, same result, after download, checks fail.

Anyone having trouble shutting down .I have 2 TVs one is a Samsung the other is a panisonic when useing the Samsung it shut down fine but not on the panisonic.I am using the shut down button on the I taskbar not the reboot app .l am on the 1.7c ROM and stock kernel that it comes with

How to backup the stock ROM before flashing the Finless ROM MK808B

Hi, I am a new user for MK808B, and thinking of giving the Finless ROM 1.7 a try.
But I like to have the option to restore the original stock ROM just in case of issues...
i have already installed the CWM recovery. I can boot in the CWM mode.
if I read correctly, the Stock ROM and the FINLESS ROM are of different size in partition, hence I have to use the Finless way of Flashing using a PC via USB direct connection at OTG connection correct?

i have done a back up with CWM tool for my stock ROM. And it's saved to an external SD CARD.

how would finless ROM FLASH tool support the restoration of the Stock ROM, IF I want to restore?
or the Finless ROM flash tool can do the complete backup of the stock ROM first before flashing?
As I know that the entire stock ROM would be wipe out and the partition resized correct?

please assist me, or point me to the necessary resources. Thanks.

Your device has 4 Gb of nand? I suggest you try another usb wire, and try to flash your original rom, then flash custom rom but not flash the bootloader nor the parameters file, tell me if it works.
