Hmmm..... Maybe heat? seems that after it runs for a bit the problem occurs. Where is it plugged into your tv? is it laying flat against it? if so, try to suspend it level and point towards your router. Just a poke in the dark. but i dont think it has anything to do with the rom or wifi drivers etc.... I have tried both 720 and 1080 with great results on both. Maybe the unit is DEFUNCT. also if you open the case, does it have both antena wires? or is one side 2 posts that push against the case? maybe not a good contact etc...Best of luck tracking it down. Keep us posted. 1.7 Rocks!!!!!!!!!:thumbup:

Thank for you opening up the 1.7 Beta. This is a great ROM. 1.6 was great, and this is an improvement over that. If the mouse and MXPlayer bugs are the only things that plague this rom, it's the least of my worries. Wifi connection is strong and stable so far. I'm using the latest version of Hulu Plus; no more hacked versions of 1.0 The ability to choose clock speeds up to 1.6Ghz on a 720p rom is also great. I have a 1080p TV, but 720 is easier to navigate from a distance, and your rom upscales very nicely.

If I could do it myself, I would, but I can't, so I'm glad you're out there doing this for us.

I can confirm what nalf38 wrote after 1 week of using 1.7 Beta. Only thing is this MXPlayer but this seems to be problem with this application - I tried BSPlayer with the same mechanism and it worked just fine. Also on other ROM, MXPlayer had the same problem so...

Hi all,

I installed the 1.7. The only problem i can see is with the audio on some youtube, or XBMC videos.

Sometimes the audio stutters, for less than a second. Did you have this too? The image is fine, but audio is lost less than a second and came back again.

Anyone with the same behavior on youtube, and videos?

MK808B(Original) + Finless 1.7 BETA : TEST REPORT

This 1.7 ROM run fast and smooth on my MK808B(Original). My Wifi signal was very good no signal drop with this ROM even on my second floor(router located on first floor). I installed Airplay/DLNA (Pro) app and streamed pictures or videos from my iphone 5 (with iOS Airplay function) very smooth and fast without any problems. Youtube app run fast with no issues. Played videos with stock video player from my external HDD I have no problems with MKV, MP4 files, also AC3 & DTS no any problems. Overall of my use with this 1.7 ROM works great for me especially settings that come with this ROM make it more customizable(hope not complicate for someone) than stock ROM.

Only a problem with Antutu freezed during 2D or 3D test run but it also freezed on stock ROM#26(My thought is heat dissipate problem). I cooled it down with fan blew heat out of my unit during Antutu test run and it run without freezing with max score 9990.

Appreciated your hard work...

I've spent the day trying to crack this but without much success. I took 4 apps off of your modified boot img Finless 1.7 from last night and the buffering disappeared but it did not return when I put them back on. I then managed to get your original boot img Finless 1.7 running without buffering for the first time and added apps one by one, testing as I went but it eventually came back. I've changed YouTube versions, re-started the router and changed wifi channels and tried the stock charger and a PC instead of the ipad charger I was using. It's not running hot and wifi is good. To be fair, it seems to be happening with less regularity but I'm afraid I can't shed any light on it.


With no other reports of this behaviour it has to be something local to me or my MK808/ setup...I'll keep looking!

I recently bought a MK808b, it's an original one. I didn't dislike the new stock rom but it wasn't rooted so I tested your Finless 1.7 rom. Been playing with it for a few days now and these are my thoughts and questions:

I can confirm what exglynco mentioned about the WIFI. The wifi works great but if you plug a flymouse in the device directly then you get interference. Your WIFI signal becomes VERY unstable and the flymouse reacts badly at times. Using the micro USB to USB cable and plugin in the dongle there fixes this issue since the dongle is further away from the unit now.
CONCLUSION: Wifi instability in combination with the flymouse is a hardware problem.

The rom performs well, but my stock rom used to show "Google TV" as boot image and was recognized by google play as a Google TV device. It had the nice Google TV youtube app with it. Now I'm unable to download the app since the device isn't recognized as a Google TV device. Putting back the build.prop hasn't fixed my problem yet.
THOUGHTS/QUESTION: Any way to get the app back and maybe the nice boot screen? (I already changed the boot animation, didn't find the screen yet)
