Hi,

Does this ROM includes video player that can play 1080p DTS using HW acceleration?

I tried the factory reset and could not reboot after.
I decided to go back through the steps again and discovered I had installed a ugos ROM. Can't believe I did that:-)

Downloaded right mk808 and flashed. now I have WiFi again.

everything good so far HBO, sling, play on, archos is working great finally able to stream from my remote nas.

mx player problem no more

I was playing a 720p movie from network and I paused it and went to settings and I changed the theme to black. When I started playing the movie the interface of MX player wasn't dissapearing immediately anymore.

Tip for Installing 1.7 on new original MK808B (turn off all dev options not just debuggimg)

Just to give my experience on installing the ROM on a new orig. MK808B.
This might help new users like me having problems installing:
I had a real problem installing this rom following installation steps. Tried both included flash tools, all different usb ports on 2 different PCs (one XP, one Win7 64bit), also tried the paperclip/reset trick many times, but could not get the MK808B to connect at all to the PC.
In the end I found the solution by chance. The trick -for me at least- was that just unticking debugging in dev settings was not enough, it was only when I completely turned of developer options (at the top of the dev opt petting page), that everything suddenly worked....no problems... just as described in installation steps.

The ROM is now running very well - great work!
The only issue I have is that my (cheap) Targa MK20 mini wireless keyboard with integ. mousepad and German (Quertz) layout, only works with English (Querty) layout straight from the ROM - even if I changed language/input settings to German (or English) with Quertz layout. In the stock rom it worked perfectly. Now I have found an extra app for ext. keyboard and have been able to get the German layout working. I am also experiencing strange multiple letters appearing sometimes with the same keyboard (rrrrrrrrrr instead of r) which I did not experience on stock, but this may be a hardware issue due to a bad 2.4ghz wireless connection. I tried new batteries as well.

Have I missed a trick somewhere in the threads for turning the MK808 back on from sleep from the keyboard - without having to get up and pull the power cable?

Unfortunatelly this wont work. If you power down the device, the USB is completely switched off, i.e. the receiver wont be able to pick up the power on signal from your keyboard.

However, you can keep the stick running all the time, if you want. The device draws only 3.5W/h, this results in a power consumption of 84W per day or 30,66 KW per year. At an average price of 26 cent per KWh (Germany, May 2012 according to wikipedia) this results in costs of 7,97€ for keeping the device running 24/7 365 days of the year. That's about the price of one menu at Burger King

Thanks for the infos! Yes, if heating up isnt an issue in standby, then you are right. I will leave out one BK menu this year and save a few thousand calories as well!

My wifi is also good..but I don't understand why stock Finless 1.7 on Ipegtop MK808 buffers when streaming web video (Netflix, You Tube & BBC iPlayer) where Finless 1.6 does not ...I've flashed both again yesterday and there is such a difference I've had to go back to 1.6

Are you willing to test a new boot.img (you do not have to reflash and erase). Yes I did increase the TCPIP buffers hoping this would help XBMC. While I have NO issues with netflix or youtube myself, there might be something else going on with some people. So I can make a boot IMG putting back the default buffer size.

Give me about 15 minutes please. I want to nail this down. I will upload a new boot.img and yiu flash ONLY that. Then let me know. I have also made some stagefright changes in build.prop for performance so between boot and build.prop these are the differences with 1.6 vs 1.7. Stay tuned.
