(stock rom, 720.img, no over clock no mods).Every thing else is working absolutely great !! apart from the hide key on the rc11 is a volume down button aswell
I have the same problem, downgrading to another rom works fine.

        Hi Bob,

I installed 1.7 standard default and now my WiFi is broke.

I have installed 1.6 and All is good.

I can not slide from off to on the WiFi switch but I can check the box to search for access points but none appear.

I always thought I had a standard mk808 bought off amazon but now I'm wondering?

is there an easy way to identify my mk808? could I have a clone?

        any other ideas?

        pura Vida,
        joe

Try to reset factory defaults. Worked for me on 1.5 with the same problem!

Have you try to erase IDB in Rom flash tool before you flash the Rom?
If it repeats in diferent roms I think it is a hardware problem so sorry.
What do you mean about flash on and off? Does the screen flash on/off? Or the led in the device?
I used the MK808B Original 720p, I put an overclocking program on it.
            I did erase IDB.
Screen flash on/off, The device stays on.
I also noticed something else, it flashes green and purple.
I tryed other cables and a different tv.

I received three new MK808Bs Monday, and have set them up on Finless 1.7, CWM Recovery, stock kernel, ROM, etc, 1080p image. I unsoldered the primary antenna ground wires, and blocked the contacts on the secondary antennae with cardboard.

Wifi on all three works fine 2 meters from my router (maximum 11.5 Mbps download). Once I move them two rooms away (about 8 meters), wifi speed drops to 299 kbps download. My old MK808 with an added antenna from an old router gets 6 Mbps download speed under the same conditions.

One problem appears to be interference or feedback from the air mouse controller, which uses the same wifi frequency. I discovered this by starting speed test (from speedtest.net), and watching the speed increase noticeably when I removed the air mouse dongle from my MK808B(s).

I did 15 back-to-back speed tests with the air mouse dongle connected to the USB-OTG port and the regular USB port, controlling speed test with my RC-11 air mouse.

Then I removed the batteries from the RC-11 controller, left the dongle attached and untouched, and ran speed test on the MK808Bs using my Nexus 7 and RKRemote Control. The average air mouse download speed test was 299 kbps. The average RKRemote Control download speed was 753 kbps, 251% better.

Since this was my first experience with MK808Bs, I flashed one of them to Finless 1.6a to see if there is a wifi penalty from using Finless 1.7, as reported by several users. Sorry, folks. There is no difference in wifi performance between Finless 1.6a and 1.7.

How to identify the type of the Stick

                      Hi,

I'm new here and first I want to say thank you for your great work, Bob.
                      I have a question. I didn't know wich kind of device I have. Is it a MK808, a MK808b or a clone.
In original Formware there was the ability to switch Bluetooth on but it seems not to work.
I flashed the finless 1.7 firmware for the mk808b and wlan works well but bluetooth not.

Is there a way for me to identify my device?

                      Thank you
                      Alfred

Thank you for your work and bringing 1.7 test Bob!

I don't regret my donation at all, thanks again!

Just an idea though, why not put 3rd party apps like FancyWidget etc. in /data so they can be uninstalled the easy way?

                        Greetings
                        Simon

EDIT: Did I miss it on 1.6 or can the stock RK player play mkv files in 1.7 now? Works great along with the stock rk file explorer Only the text font is hard to see on white background... need to find a font with better black edges!

Try to use another paper clip. You should hear and feal the click once you press the pin into the proper hole. Make sure it is not the hole with the blue LED! Once you have found out the proper press technique, connect the USB cable to the PC, press the paper clip, hold it down and while holding it connect the other end of the USB cable to the mk808. Should work. Do let me know if you succeed!
