Another reviewer reported a problem with Titanium Pro not restoring YouTube . No such problem here, and I fail to see how it could be related to this ROM.

I'd have posted more 1.7 testing results, but my true MK808 has been failing steadily. I have 3 tvs and one HDMI-capable monitor, but my MK808's output only gets recognized by one of the tvs. I've wasted a lot of time reflashing different kernel/recovery/ROM combos trying to pinpoint the problem. My wife studies in the room with my sole functioning MK808 test mule, so... Even on that one, the output flickers until I get the HDMI cable positioned exactly right.

In my previous post, I failed to thank Bob for his tireless support of us RK3066 users, so let me do it now. Bob, if our paths cross in real life (I get to SoCal a couple of times/year), beer or dinner is on me. Finless 1.7 is a major step up in functionality for MK808 users,

I tried the Screen capture function, and it works great. I thought the capture would occur in the default 15 seconds, and not instantly. I'll try again when I can get the tv again .

The greyed-out Wi-fi strength bars appeared again, during a boot. I thought I gave it plenty off time before tweaking settings (which didn't fix it). I rebooted. The blue colors finally reappeared.

I'm not the lowest of the low, but I am the slowest of the slow (49.6 mpg over 38k miles in Scion xB)

Ate you tried omegamoon kernel for mk808? I cant try, cause i have mk808b , but he says that he solves the HDMI problem in his kernel.

Just finished testing the beta firmware and hats off to Bob Finless again for providing such a great rom.

What I have found so far is the wifi statue bar seems to dissapear when I reboot, but I am still connected so no biggie. Also the hide bar function doesn't seem to work ( never has ) don't know if its my mk808 or the firmware. It just got stuck hidden and the mouse goes crazy. Had a problem streaming videos from my computer with mxplayer, switched to bs player and everything looks fine.

On the plus side, my wifi appears to be stronger by a full bar. Everything is smooth , really like this one.

So, I've tried the new FW:

First the ugly Bootanimation, as usual^^ but I don't care

- I noticed that slide 2 unlock is standard after boot? Makes no sense from my point of view on a Stick.
- First Wlan acces i got an authentication error - removed AP - added again and it worked - could be local issue
- installed my apps, customized my Homescreen (using APEX Launcher)
- plugged in my USB2ETH Adapter (caused some Freezes on other romes too) and again freezes this adapter is working well on my GK802. It is a cheap one from Geekbuying. JP1081B NO:9700 as soon I try to access the local Network (stream Video/Audio) the Stick freezes
- No Problem with my Air Mouse RC 11 and volume up/down - all works fine
- Installed Alex Kernel 1080p
- Overall Wireless Strenght seems to be good (better than 1.6) if the db in the Wlan Analyzer app is correct

1080p is perfect to connect it to my 23" PC Monitor but for TV 1080p is too much for me, so I will revert back to Bobs 720p - it is still the best :-) Afterwards I will test in "daily operation" mode.

Overall seems nice and stable and the first Time that I can play 1080p via Wlan withouth any stuttering just PERFECT!

Bob, wouldn't it be a good idea to edit the 1st post to show the known 'bugs' that have been listed marked using numbers?
This way no repeating of the same bugs and an overview of what is left to do, and maybe some ideas of others on how to fix it.

Hi there Bob,

Just a couple more things I noticed on the new FW:

1. Thank you for making it so tremendously smooth!
2. When in MX Player with the nav bar hidden, the information that pops up when you left click during play time disappeares really quick (too quick). When you unhide the nav bar the information stays visible for a longer time (I read your earlier remark regarding the hassle you have in order to get the nav bar hidden, and I really hope this will not discourage you towards these issues related to the nav bar hiding...).
3. The lock screen/sleep mode doesn't seem to be too stable yet. I often get the "no input" message on screen when trying to get the device out of sleep mode and having to pull the power cord in order to get the device visible on screen again. Sorry for not being able to give more info on this subject, but I am unable to tell what might cause this.

Having said all this I want to really make clear how gratefull I am (and we all should be) for the great experience you've brought to this device, that now brings joy into my house every day. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!

Have been testing for 3 days now here is what i have found. Mk808b (non clone)
1. Graphical glitch that occurred when not using soft keyboard is gone.
2. No wifi issues apart from the small 1 mentioned above. Icon is grey after reboot (this was happening in 1.6 but not 1.5) i am still connected though. Switching the wifi on then off resolves this.
3. Skype and included camera/gallery apk work flawlessly (logitech c920 + powered hub)
4. no issues streaming HD video content from multiple sources (web, wifi).
5. No issues with external 2.5 hdd w/powered hub
6. I have had to format the internal sd after 1st boot with 1.6 and 1.7 notification stating that they are damaged and need formatting, not an issue for me as i like clean installs
7.Have not found any issues with auto hide status bar. i was getting pointer blur in 1.6 but that is gone. The pointer misalignment when hiding status bar in XBMC is gone also which is great

Not rom related but CWM recovery works nicely

All in all great work! the sleep function threw me at first, my mk808b is always left on. I quickly realised if i want it to stay on i needed to change the default wifi behavior.

A little trick that may help some with WIFI, I have found that if the MK808 is suspended (level) and not resting or dangling I get a full 5 Bars and connected at about 1.3-1.5 mb, no hiccups in streaming Netflix or YouTube. The hide bar functions nicely but a bit tricky getting it back on. I use Nova launcher and can go to settings on it, turn on auto hide then off again. I have been using it for 3 days now taking tutorials on Google sketchup designing a kitchen for a 3D walk trough for presentation. THIS ROM IS FAST.... Google earth works really well also. The only thing this doesn't do is get my coffee. I use this for just about everything now, my tablet and this phone are getting dusty.

Thank you for the suggestion! Omegamoon's kernel does make a difference - the difference between connecting or not to my current monitor.

I used the screen capture utility for two timed captures & two instant captures. One quirk from running a 1080p display is I have duplicate screen resolutions, such as 2 1920x1080 50Hz choices, 2 2880x480 60Hz choices, and 2 2880x480 50Hz choices.

Further testing results!

For a beta it´s absolutly .
So far nothing out of the common.
I belive that the not responding things i encoutered based on XBMC. Giant updating , Media info for many, many movies, etc.

I stumbled only on one thing. As I mentioned before i have sometimes trouble with LAN, and after testing it, also with W-LAN, sometimes not conecting after reboot or shutdown. I don´t belive that this is an rom issue, I´ll do a reflash and investigate furter.

Found the problem. Part of it sits in front of the keyboard. As usual.
A new flash of the rom, and adding the periphals one after another solved the connection issue.

Wifi issues coming out of sleep.

Guys please try this.
After you connect your wifi and while on the wifi settings, click the 3 dots in the upper right corner. Select advanced. Change "Keep wifi on during sleep" from never to always.

While I am not seeing this wifi grey icon issue at all when I wake from sleep, this may solve it for you.

I am not sure why some of you see this but it maybe due to other kernels you might be using!

I had to change my first review. I experienced some local wlan issues, after reboot of the access point I'm freaking out.....

What the hell? OMG, jump jump jump around.

The first setup (1.7 plus Alex Kernel) I'm able to play 1080p over wlan from my SMB share without any lag!!! Just smooth as from local USB Stick. Also no problem on a 18GB 1080p AC3 file.

So looks like the wifi connection is just perfect now. I got 17Mbit with the netspeed check and Wifi Analyzer is showing a perfect signal strenght.
