Yes, I'm in expert mode and have checked 'enable passthrough' as well as all the Dolby Digital-, DTS-, TrueHD-, DTS-HD-  capable receiver options. I have a capable Yamaha receiver, connected via HDMI.

Tried al possible combinations of settings.But after two weeks of tweaking I'm getting either no sound at all, or plain dts or pcm

Should I not have an HDMI option in audio output device, like in Vidon XMBC? And passthrough output device is grayed out..
Currently I only have;
ALSA: Default (AML-M8AUDIO S/PDIF)
PULSE: Default, bluetooth audio (PULSEAUDIO)

Regards,
Marc

tminus3 In Audio output device, I see (ALSA: Default (AML-M8AUDIO Analog) and Pulse: Default, Bluetooth Audio(PULSAEAUDIO)
ALSA is selected, the second one is available.
Try the settings in the attached zip
Are you using SPDIF, as I don't think it will pass HD Audio in some cases. See here.
If you had SPDIF selected in Android, but are using HDMI in OE, go in to Android and change it to default or HDMI, then come back to OE and see what you get.
Good luck.Attached Files

1. What is your model ?
2. Which version of the image used ? In the latest version (27.06.2016) built-in BT works for Telos.
3. The sound output I have not tested. I don't have multichannel equipment. It is necessary to wait the answer of other users. As far as I know, in the latest version it should work.

Thanks for the reply and screenshots. Unfortunately, I have no ALSA: Default (AML-M8AUDIO Analog) option. Just ALSA: Default (AML-M8AUDIO S/PDIF). And with that I don't get the same options on the rest of the setup menu.
In Android I have selected HDMI as the audio option, never used S/PDIF, as all my AV equipment is connected via HDMI.
Any suggestions on how to get that ALSA: Default (AML-M8AUDIO Analog) option in there?
Also, my Telos takes 55 seconds to go from the static Tronsmart logo, to the OpenElec (or Android) boot screen. OE then takes just 15 or so seconds to boot. Could that be down to a slow (class 4) SD-card?

System =Metal, OE =Devel ver7
oe continuous crash, this always happen when I scroll down on the movies list, I am not sure what could have caused, let me first say my movie list is large, maybe this could be the reason, often it lag to response when scrolling for moving. I would say, I don't experience this issue with OE Generic on Windows 7 & i5, I won't expect same performance but I don't expect to see constant crashing when I hold down remote key for few min searching for movies to watch. Also, I don't want to attribute the problem to SDCARD,becos it is a Sandisk® Extreme Pro® 64GB Sdxc (Secure Digital Extended-Capacity) Class 10 Flash Memory with write speed of 90.
Should I post a log if that would help to determine the source of the issue? I would change to stable version and see if that resolved the issue , in the meantime can someone suggest a cause of action
Thanks

Bluetooth is working, but audio over bluethooth isn't on my phone (Nexus 6) (Will try with another phone.)
Multichannel pcm audio from hdmi not working as only pcm stereo and compressed audio is used.(Just like it was optical)
This is not a deal breaker though lol

e123enitan I had some issues with the development version, move back to the stable.
For the browsing issue, you may want to collapse menu items, or limit the number of listed movies by sorting them in to categories/folders. Just a guess though, as my movie list is very small.
.
tminus3 Class 4 is likely inadequate, class10 or better recommended. Anytime the device has to read the class 4 card, it will be slow. When the device is reading from it to load OE, you can expect long load/boot times. Once it is loaded, it runs OK as it is executing from the device, not the card.
For rhe audio issue, when you get back to Android, in Android settings, set audio output to default or auto

And regarding the class4 sd-card: both OpenElec and android boot in about 15 seconds, plenty fast for me. It just takes nearly a minute of staring at a static Tronsmart logo before my Telos boots into either IE or Android. Should it take that long? And does the SD-card play a role even before it boots to either IE or Android?

When you reboot Android(not first start), does the box spend less time on the logo? Do you have USB attached storage when booting, if so, remove it and see if it is quicker. I will compare tonight when I get back to the box.
To the audio issue, I am not sure, as all formats working here. Is there any posibilty you could reburn the card, be very careful in choosing the version for your model. I cannot imagine why it would matter, but if you have a different HDMI cable, give it a try, or a different input on your Sony.
Can you send a screenshot of the audio setting you are seeing in OE?Last edited by RISCy Dude; 30 June 2016, 02:19.
