Today I again checked all, and must say - the problem of 4.0.7 and 4.0.8 firmware not with bluetooth or Titanium Backup. These firmware have problem with usb drivers of my keyboard(Rii mini). Without connected usb dongle - all fine. But when I connect dongle to usb - tvbox immediately breaks. Disconnecting dongle, restart, factory reset- does not help, only reflashing firmware helps. And problem not with keybord, because on all previous firmwares dongle work. Another user talks about simular problem with airmouse on 4.0.7

I had problems with my Microsoft Mouse. I had to switch to Logitech. Given the much improved OS and video quality it was worth the price of buying new mice.

Sorry for your problem, but I´m using the same Keyboard (+touchpad) Rii mini I8+ with 4.0.8 (and previously with v4.0.7) and everything is fine with this; I connect always the keyboard or airmouse to the OTG port on my R-89; if I use the other USB ports the operation is not smooth.

AFAIK this menu is integral part of MM Android. Each application which would like to write to SD card or USB drive should ask about permission for each drive. It is a little bit a chore but this is a security feature. If menu mentioned by you appears you must choose root directory of the SD card or USB drive which you want give write access for that app.

I had checked the permissions, all of them are Ok; I can write some files from internal memory (named "SD Card") to the USB drive but is requested to define the "root directory", which I did and I can copy files using ES File Explorer, but for this app where I have to define the path where the "cache" be written that kind of request not occur, so this specific app does not know with is the root directory so won´t be able to copy on it; so how this can be solved if in this rom or the system MM itself does not interpret or does not know what is the root directory; apparently this definition of the "root directoy" for any portable storage does not cover whole system; other thing as well is that the "path" or location to save cache or recordings files is not sved or preserved into the app may be becuase that stange name adopted by the portable storage here is not accepted by the app, I don´t know; in gfact the portable storage appear below /storage directory and not under //mnt as had been before of MM; it´s a MM change. I think those are problems that may be wasser be able to know how to fix it.

On 4.0.8 if I pause a large movie (35GB) and try to play it again I lose the audio. It doesn't matter what player I use as long as 5.1 passthrough is being used. I've had this issue on all 4.x builds on SPDIF or HDMI audio. Can anyone else recreate this? Smaller video files don't have this problem. I'm using wired Ethernet. If I close out of the video player and open it again I get the audio back. Also if I try to start the playback just a few seconds before the paused part of the video I get the audio back.

This was something that I reported in an earlier version and I don't recall seeing it in 4.0.8 but will double check and get back to you.

Update. Yes I can see this now with any 5,1 or DTS file, regardless of size.

After pausing and restarting playback I notice that my soundbar then reports the sound as PcM and I just get lots of static crackles, hiss and noise.

No issues with any other audio though.

not only you. I have problem with usb otg too. And disabling/enabling "connect to pc" in settings dont help

I think, you have another box. For example, your box with 16GB ROM, but my box with 8GB rom.

Same here. I can't connect to my PC as well.

I have no issues connecting to my PC using the OTG port.

It works for flashing, so can't think of why it would not work for data transfer.

However, there are 2 settings that need to be checked.

The first being the connect to PC option, which is the obvious one.

The second being the option to change the connection type (MTP, PTP etc).

This used to be part of the storage settings option but is now located in developer options.

By default (as I have reported in my feedback) charging is set, so needs to be changed to what ever suits your requirements (MTP in my case).

Then you will see the connection being made.

It is (also as reported in feedback) however reset back to charging after every reboot.

Also camera not work on 4.0.8 ....in different usb socket....otg, not otg, no difference. After connecting and restarting not work: all videoplayers, window "sound" in "settings"(why only sound setting????), spontaneous reboots and lethargy. After disconneting and rebooting - all work. Sooo... not work camera, not work keyboard....obviously problems with USB drivers
P.S Enabling/disabling "connect to pc". "charging/mtp/ptp/usb ethernet etc" not help absolutely

I have just connected a USB stick via the OTG port and I can access all data on it (and as long as I don't allow it to become part of the system itself I can write to it as well).

You do have to turn off connect to PC for it to work, which from memory has been this way for a long time.

Also, going back to the strange naming conventions for Micro SD cards and USB sticks, I can see that some apps are able to recognise and display the name of the device as we would expect to see it and others not.

For example I have Kodi that sees all the odd number/letters combinations and a kodi fork that displays my SD card as Sandisk SD card and the flash drive as USB drive.
