oh lord , i believe i should minimize directing the Qs.... but thanks for the effort and dedication to reply back bluesmanuk.
i've been always fond of getting smooth video playback without the need of autoframe rate switching , (wasser's MM's roms and mo123 1.5 rom were able to achieve that VIA KODI , but unfortunately with the lack of spdif passthrough support in wasser's case).... thanks

      Any time.

We all help each other out when we need it, so it's all good.

To have an MM ROM for the RK3288 is great and considering how long it can often take for one to be perfected, this has come at lightning speed and is so close to being as good as we could possibly expect.

I'd be willing to bet that Kodi passthrough will be working very soon indeed and will have the complete pleasurable playback across the board.

As RKMC also matures in development, that should add to the experience.

If only Rockchip had pulled their fingers out a long time ago, the RK3288 could have been king above pretty much all others for a good while.

Firmware works fine on RKM V5 . HDMI Bitstream works.
Amazon instant video did not work, video stutters or stop completely. WiFi works with a little mod. Great Rom , Thanks

In my case up to date, without doubts, I consider the RK3288 the king in Android OS above of AMLogic S812 or S905 or Allwiner A80, and more with the ultimate decision of Kodi team to do not support any special hardware video codec for android mor than standar "mediacodec", so all of these chinese SoCs are in the same table; however this SoC is almost 2 years old, it´s a powerful chip with good thermal behavior; but this was possible with Wasser efforts, with a wise move from Beelink to support or cooperate with Wasser; the deception of the initial R-89 with Kitkat become a joy with previously LP rom and now MM Rom from wasser. And all of this considering this R-89 as an lower hardware specs device compared with the RK3288 Ugoos and Nagrace, which had been doing good as well with the cooperation with moe123. Who decide to choose these devices had been benefited in a long term. Thanks to these developers.

The problem with the USB units or external SD it´s not only the name; the applications can not write on it; I use some apps to write to the USB or ext SD card (recording or caching on it) but that does not work here; I think this is a bug on v4.0.8.

Does anyone else notice that the HDMI video is smoother when SPDIF audio is used instead of using HDMI audio? I've noticed this since 2.0.9. I use MX PLayer 1.8 (and codec) and ES Media player since those two video players seem to produce the best video quality lately.

Try 1.7 without the codec and see what you think of the smoothness then.

I did notice the older version seemed to be better.

Did you use any previous MM version? I don't know if this is new bug or rather MM restrictions aren't known to you.

Nope, this it´s my first contact with MM; I had been wondering about that menu that appear as soon one USB or SD card is plugged to the device; give the option in case of Sd card to switch to "convert it to Internal memory" or use it to interchange Media, Photos; in case of USB sticks appear only "to interchange media, photos".
But to interchange media and photos it´s in both way from the card to the device internal memory and from device internal memory to the external SD card?
So you are trying to say that in MM if one external SD card it´s not used as "internal memory" the user don´t be able to write on it?; these external storage would be a "read only" devices in MM? If this is a "MM´s restriction" that´s a real bad thing in case of being true; this is a not sense change. Do you have experience with other MM device like any Google Nexus? what is your understanding of this?

AFAIK this menu is integral part of MM Android. Each application which would like to write to SD card or USB drive should ask about permission for each drive. It is a little bit a chore but this is a security feature. If menu mentioned by you appears you must choose root directory of the SD card or USB drive which you want give write access for that app.

I´ll check app permissions regarding to storage write access and see what I can find. Thks.

I can try that. Does 5.1 passthrough work on the older version without the codec?

Both versions work with passthrough without the codec through HDMI and SPDIF.

Wasser must have integrated it into the firmware.

Today I again checked all, and must say - the problem of 4.0.7 and 4.0.8 firmware not with bluetooth or Titanium Backup. These firmware have problem with usb drivers of my keyboard(Rii mini). Without connected usb dongle - all fine. But when I connect dongle to usb - tvbox immediately breaks. Disconnecting dongle, restart, factory reset- does not help, only reflashing firmware helps. And problem not with keybord, because on all previous firmwares dongle work. Another user talks about simular problem with airmouse on 4.0.7
