Worth Googling to see what fixes and workarounds that there might be out there.
Yep, Amazon was one of them - it just seems to direct me to the website instead of the video directory and then when I click on a video it crashes. Going to play with it more another time (I'll try rootcloack etc) but thanks cjeman I'll take a look at that particular version as well.

The other app is the official hotstar (which is working on my tablet) - I've done a catlog and can see that some permissions are denied on installing and wondering if this is the problem (especially location hardware) and some other permissions are unknown.

I have exercised Amazon Prime on my mini M8S and it runs as one would expect.

I was just coming on the forums to say that I had Amazon Prime up and running well and see you beat me to it

Next issue hotstar app (but I can get the web broswer to open it so all is not lost).

Hi all, in terms of the video streaming itself I have noticed that the picture is dark as some others have pointed out here. Is there something to brighten the output?

Also, I prefer to use the ethernet connection but some apps default to lower video quality as they think the device is not on WiFi but on a mobile connection. I tried WiFi faker but then the apps try to use the WiFi connection and they don't have it so that doesn't actually work. Is there some way to tell the apps there is a WiFi connection, but use the ethernet one for speed?

If you play a 4k video it will fix the dark screen issue until you reboot the GT1

Wifi sucks on these devices its a hit or miss. If it works it work ok not great. If it doesnt it really sucks. If you must have wifi and you got one that sucks. Then try putting tape flag of wifi out side the box or put 2.5 cm pc of copper and soder to main antena or try the full mod and install antena. Not many other working fixes for wifi on these models via firmware as its a crap hardware issue.

I don't actually need to use my wifi as I have it hardwired, but then some apps then think that it's not on wifi but a mobile connection and so the stream is of low quality.

What I am looking for is something to trick the app into thinking that it's on wifi but for it to use the hardwired connection. I looked around and wetek core have something called a WIFI Simulator - I think kind of thing on this box is what I need. I tried the 'Fake Wifi' Xposed mod, but it didn't seem to do the trick (the apps just had no internet access then).

So if you play a 4k video and then switch to say a HD stream, the HD stream will be brighter?

So I managed to find a USB male to male cable and updated my MiniM8S II to your firmware because I was having WiFi issues with the stock firmware.

The good news is that WiFi performance is much better. This ROM also removed all of the Kodi bloat that came with this box.

The bad news is I'm experiencing some weird issues:

                              1. When I go to watch a movie in Kodi, my RGB output changes from Full to Limited. It's easy to tell because blacks suddenly become much lighter and turn to a gray instead. I have to change my TV to RGB Limited to make things look normal again.

                              2. When I hit the menu button on my TV remote (LG LED TV) it opens up the Music app.

These two things are unfortunately deal breakers for me. I appreciate your work but it doesn't seem to be bug free, at least on my M8S Mini II.

I didn't post this to complain, more to bring up in hopes that it can be fixed.

Do ROMs have different WiFi drivers? If so, do you happen to know which driver is in yours vs the one that's with the stock M8SMini II ROM? I would very much appreciate if someone could take the WiFi drivers from this ROM and implement them in the stock M8SMini ROM.

Not sure how to fix the RGB issue. Maybe some googleing can find a fix. you can change the button so it doesn't do anything try modifying remote.conf and remove the part with music. or maybe the generic.kl
